Warm up parameters are fixed in the ECM tune
CSI ( 9th injector ) only gets power and operates when the engine is cranking over

CSI switch is to left of the CTS sensor ( temp to ECM ) shown circled

it sounds like the Idle Air Control is sticky or needs adjusting. It should kick down after reaching op temp.

The 9th injector only fires when REALLY cold... It's summer, so I would be shocked if it was actually being used now. Think of the 9th injector as being the enrichment circuit on a carb.

The temp sensor does control this, but if the IAC or TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) decide to freak out, then all bets are off.

Do you have the Helm Factory Service Manual? IF not, check eBay, because folks are selling them on CD for $15~$25, versus over $100 for paper.

the ecm for 1985 is rather crude... slow to say the least. I can't estimate how well it will learn.

What method did you use to reset the IAC and base idle?
