Up to now, I have always run the stock fans, but I think its time I upgraded my air puller fan.

But, I have never studied the issue, but I know many of you have. What is your recommendation ? Bear in mind, I have an aftermarket 3 core radiator plus a 6500 rpm 436 sbc that will be raced hard starting next season, therefore I believe I need more cooling capability than that of a 350 or 383.

Dual or single fan ? What is the cfm ? Amp draw ? What should I take into account to make it fit ? Do you have a part # ?

Does anybody know at what amp draw does it start to tax the battery/alternator ?

Road-course racers ! please feel free to chime in... I figure if anybody has figured out how to adequately cool a high performance motor, its you guys.

Thanks for any insight on the matter !

being a '95 mine has the later dual pull fan setup.

I also installed a large oil cooler and fan where the spare used to be.

You running an oil cooler?

Yes, also running a tranny cooler installed to the front of the radiator. I think it helps considering I have always gotten great transmission life versus most others, but not sure.

Dewitt's carries aftermarket Spal brand fans that are supposed to be top notch. Not sure how much fab is required. I've read of the Mark IV and Taurus fan swaps that supposedly cool better, but these require fabrication and upgraded wiring/relays. Plus, I've never seen an actual comparison of how much air they push vs stock. Just a couple things to consider.
