my next project is going to be brakes only thing is lock key for the 1985 is stripped any ideas I tried to chisel it off did not work also can not find a reverse thread socket that will fit over it any ideas would be great also if anyone knows where i can purchase the key i had no luck thanks

You have a few options left...

Try drilling the thing off. If you can drill into the lug, then hit it with the chisel.

Also, make sure you have the other 4 lugs in, this way, the one lug isn't holding all the load.

Check in your area for someone who has a plasma drill. They usually can come to you. They are very common in the boating industry. These tools can melt a broken stud out of threads without hurting the threads.

If you have locking lugnuts I would suggest trying a local tire place. They often have a wide range of keys and will charge you a few dollars to get it off.

You can also try to beat a slightly larger socket on it and try to get it off that way.

As far as purchasing a key...good luck. Usually you just have to buy a new locking socket set. I am personally not a fan of them.

Pretty much any tire place should have the tools to remove them if you haven't buggered them up too much.
