I am not a real big fan but since this is the Daytona 500 today I thought I would keep the TV on in the background.
Are any of the driver's Corvette fans/owners? I vaguely recall that Tony Stewart is.
I see that Danica's car has a Chevy bowtie on the grille so I might root for her.

Need some edumication too. My perception of Nascar is that the organization has mandated that the cars all look the same and have the same engine output.
The cars look like they are driving in a line down the Interstate (until they crash).
And why the f*** are Toyotas allowed in the race? What ever happened to Ford vs Chevy vs Mopar?
I liked the days of Fireball Roberts, Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt.
Not that I am gettin old and cranky though.

Yes Nascar went politically correct, make everything even, turn it into professional wrestling.
Doing that is partially to blame for yesterday's catastrophe. The driver doing the pushing can't see jack in front of him.
AND pushing cars around the track is not racing, it's wrestling.

Toyota is there because they gave the Francs a shitload of money.

I had a Fireball Roberts slotcar set when I was a kid.

Not that much, I've instructed in them, a ZR1 will blow their doors off.

Rick Hendrick has enough Corvettes to supply all the drivers, crewchiefs and the guys who clean the port-a-johns.
