Interesting you say that... My Mom got her recipe from the mother of a young Italian-American kid that worked under my Dad... way back in post war France, 1950 or so.
The kid was painfully homesick, so they conspired to reach out to Mom and get his favourite meal - spaghetti. Mom sent for the recipe and made the kid dinner. Really picked up his spirits. The recipe stayed in the family, until Mom moved and I think the old family cook book went bye-bye. What is really fascinating is that the recipe Mom used tasted so much like what this restaurant made... I may need to get a gallon of the stuff. |

Those sauces are extremely simple, the ingredients are anyway. And extremely good.

My mother's uncle knew a guy that married a gal whose family knew a Greek cook. The cook worked in Napoli. I think he might have known a recipe for spaghetti sauce. Nevermind .......... |
