Well, it was a bit of a bitch, not too bad though.
Good news, all the holes I had to re tap, held up just fine...... I studded the plenum, which was a great idea, and put nuts on it. I dropped nuts all over the place, as it was a bit of a PIA. The worst problem I had, that scared the crap out of me, was when I dropped one of the K Locks and it almost fell down the oil hole in the head. Got my little magnet on a stick and pulled it right off the ridge of the hole. I'd be just about ready to fire up if I weren't having the fuel line problem. I'll get that fixed next week. |

Glad to hear it went well. Those are such cool looking manifolds and they have that "all-business" appearance that appeals to me.

Honestly, not as hard as I had expected. I ordered a bunch of new nuts and bolts on line since I couldn't find the KLocs locally.
I got three lengths of allen head screws. 1 inch, 1.25, and 1.75. The screw that goes in "backwards" by the distributor didn't tighten up at first, thought it was stripped and panicked. I went to the longer screw and all was well. All in all, not THAT bad, sure hope I don't have to take it off. |

Bet you are happy to have that on and done! As far as the fuel lines, I ended up cutting the stock fittings off, then bought little -6an nuts and sleeves. The nut slides on the metal fuel line, then the sleeve slides on, then you flare the line with a flaring tool. Very easy, just make sure the part of the fuel line you are flaring is cleaned really well. When done you end up with the female end of a -6an fitting on your steel line. You can buy a male to male -6an union to screw into it, then screw it to the female -6an end you put on your braided steel line, and you are all done.

The "new" standard for fuel line size is said as 6an or 4an or 8an. 6an, written as -6, said as dash six, not minus six, is similar to 3/8" sae.

Certainly makes me more anxious to get it done. |

Rather than cutting the OEM lines, consider using adapters from Earls. More details and pictures have been posted to jsup's thread below. Headers and Fuel lines . |
