COOL!

I used to live in PA. I remember a nice long one near Bloomsburg that I used to walk through when we went on picnics and stuff.

When I lived in State College, I lived close to a little park, and there was a small, relatively new covered bridge built there. My wife has a series of B/W photos of that bridge, and we have them hanging in the living room.

Memories.....

Ahhh.. the old Van sandt Covered bridge. Brings back some memories of the covered bridge tours I used to run. The wife and I even had our tables named after the covered bridges in Bucks Co. I'll try and upload some pictures later of a couple of the cruises we did.

Covered bridges are great, I love them. I know where there are a couple not far apart in north-central Ohio. As recently as last summer I was up there visiting and a long time friend of mine and I went out to one of them at night, had a couple of beers and just acted like we were kids again. It's on a county road and at night you can be there for an hour or more and no one will drive by.
Few things are more beautiful and serene that a covered bridge in the country.

Covered bridges are certainly a part of history.

Being from Lancaster County Pa. I am used to seeing them and they certainly remind me of home.

We used to live just down the street from a really neat covered bridge over the Brandywine in Chester County. Then on a halloween night some vandals burnt the bridge. It was a total loss. Stupid punks!

The company I work for just recently completely disassembled, restored, reassembled, and replaced a covered bridge. They rebuilt the abutments as well, and made them look like hand-laid stone. It is the Kramer covered bridge in Columbia county, over Mud Run in Rohrsburg. I think it is great that it was reconstructed instead of replaced. I haven't seen the bridge in person but I have seen many before and after pictures. The crew leader and crew that did the work are very meticulous. They are perfectionists, which is why they were chosen for the job.
