Here's a bunch of photos I took at a local car show back in '06. A friend of mine owns the custom '59 Caddy - he's got over $200K into it. Lots of great cars - my favorite was the '57 Olds convert - I had to stay far enough away from it so as not to get splotches of drool on it.

The last 2 pics are of a friend and me having a tasty beverage on his boat after the show. I'm the assclown on the right.

So many nice cars! The '57 Ranchero made me miss the '58 I used to have. The '63 Pontiac GP is a car I've always wanted. The '67 442, the Buick Gran Sport, the Boss 429 and others. Wow!

I could look at old cars all day long - all kinds. It reminds me of when I was a kid, every fall I'd go to every car dealer in town to look at all the new cars - there was something new and exciting to see every year. Quite different from today, where they seem to leak out new models barely distinguishable from one another all year long.

Same here. It was a great fall ritual. I'd go with my dad to all of the local dealerships to see what was new. They'd always have free snacks like fresh cider and donuts. My dad had bought two cars in a row from the local Ford dealer, brand new '65 and '67 Mustangs. So when I was 14, he test drove a brand new 428 CJ 4-speed Torino, just so he could take it out in the country and let me drive it for awhile. They literally took it off of the showroom floor for him. He'd been teaching me how to and letting me drive since I was 11, so I was already a seasoned veteran by then. That Torino was pretty stout and he let me nail it and rip through the gears well into third gear. That was pretty damned cool.
I finally got to return the favor by letting him drive the Vette now that he's in his eighties. He really enjoyed that.

Thanks for sharing those pix! Nice job behind the camera, for sure!

I almost bought a T-Bird like that one. 1963, I think. It was in fantastic shape. I could not quite justify the $6,500 at the time, and I was still holding out for my Vette.

Oh if only money grew on trees....
