The speaker covers on my Bose speakers on the floor by my feet are really worn and half gone. Is there new fabric I can buy to cover it? Perhaps replacing the speakers all together?

replacing the bose isn't as easy as it sounds. The system is very propriatary. You just don't replace speakers in it. I need to bring the Audio FAQ back to life...
Speaker fabric, at least OEM, isn't available anymore. Stinger makes some nice speaker grill cloth that matches colours pretty well, tho. |

I read through the Audio FAQ as well as all the posted threads in this section. I checked out Stinger and that looks to be the ways to go.
When I talked about replacing the speakers I neglected to mention that it has a JVC HU. I decided today to tackle some of the audio oddities I have been having. The front speakers are the Bose Gold and in the rear I pulled the covers off and found Pioneer speakers. It seems the JVC unit was wired directly into the harness' going to each speaker. It sounds good most of the time except for frequent squeals and crackling sounds. I gather the Bose are designed to only work with the Bose HU? If so, then the fronts need to come out a be replaced with 6x9's? What would you suggest as the minimum amp to use? Thanks. |

with a 92, there is NO WAY that 6x9s will fit in the front. Besides, they sound like crap.
Lemme dig out some pics for you.... actually, lemme take some tomorrow. |

Most excellent. Thanks Travis93.
Bogus, I appreciate all your help. I do not have very much experience with audio, a book on car audio theory would be good. Pictures would be great. Thanks. |

interesting.
That's gotta be a rather recent product. I am curious, they call the 1990-1993 all the same, Saddle... the problem? The colour changed in 1992. |

I almost got a set myself, just a little worried about the sound quality going through carpet. It would be a lot more durable and probably would have little effect on the sound. Price sure looks right too.

If you scan down a little further Andy you will see they also show them in beige which should be correct on the later models. For what it is worth, I took mine to a local trim shop (upholstery), they recovered them with new speaker fabric that I can't tell from the original for $20 including labor. |
