maybe not evin n issue... havent driven vet only 25 miles tops one way n winter here... but have noticed idles high...evin at 195 temp she idles at say 8-10...wanna say ifn milk the clutch na tad shell pull down n stay down but around 800...shouldnt this ol girl idle bout 5-6?? do know previous owner put in a (fug cant memeber what called it )idles sensor maybe...anyways point is ifn she do idle high ....how kin i adjust it??? thanks rednecks...anythin beyond standard vacuem n carb wid dwell ..i r lost in lectric werld

Pappy, I can't remember what year your car is but check and see if it has an adjustable throttle position sensor. If it does have the voltage checked, it should be at .54 volts with the throttle closed. If it's higher than this have it set correctly, a high setting can cause a high idle.

1984. I would hit the Helm Manual and check the diagnostics for a high idle.

It could mean a vacuum leak, too. Check all the little hoses around the intake and such.

drove her a few miles taday...woot woot fun toy i tell ya... she ony drops between 8-900 yet dont seem to high either... throttle positon sensor!!! thats what was installed by previous owner....thanks fer the tips gents .. iread a lil n look a lil n see what i kin wreck...posed ta sno again so shes back under her cover...did have a muffler shop look at rear pipe (catback i think its called) said 180-200 installed...hows that fer cost?

now thats usin my new mufflers too...shoulda said that ...but the y cat back pipe be new n then they hafta fab the bend to meet the muffs...rekon go this route rather then fight it myself ... havent checked parts house but ebay had y n muffs fer 200 then shippin etc i rekon i let them fight it

thanks ...where was that from...got a pic by chance...seems ill be findin a lift too ..know one here wants to change my tranny fluid...(prolly cause i say its gotta be pefectly full ...then they git scared ...anyways ifn the bends are right id prolly jus put my own pipes in n weld up to the new muffs...but ifn hafta go fit peices id jus let the shop do it fer me..so 30-50 fer install is purty fair i rekon...thanks again
