HELP !!!!!!!
Im am new guy here. Seems like there a lot informative corvette guys. The info on the site has helped me. I must post a question today hope you can help. I'll keep it short. I have an 89, the cars got 43000. All the wires in the car is in good shape. working my way through the sensors. Replacing as needing,car runs great when running. Problem is it just stops like you cut the power, then the injectors continue to fire as if its running. Motor has so much fuel in it,sometimes it will not start. Its so bad now I can not keep it running more then a few minutes. Is it my ECM, Please Help Thanks Gman900 I'm not good on a computer but I'm learning. hope i did this right. Thanks again Members |

How did you confirm the injectors are still going? Noid light? Sound? Or just because the engine is flooded with fuel?
If they kept firing it would hydrolock the motor on the restart. Do they keep going until you turn the key off? I've never heard of an ECM failure like that, lets see what others have to say. |

Just a few thoughts: Throttle position sensor bad? Coolant temperature sensor bad? I have personally had both of these problems and the ECM wants to give the engine so much gas it either will not start, or when started it runs very rough.

It could be possible you have 1 or more injectors stuck open. Try testing your fuel pressure on the rail, it should not drop after the pump has primed.
You can also try ohm testing your injectors, very easy process and will tell you a lot. ~Rich |
