Just bought another vette 92 this time and at about 2000-2100 rpms it feels like a vibration in the engine...Not sure where.
Happens in all gears and in neutral with clutch in or out.
Not sure if it is just a rattle in the exhaust or something.
Anyone ever have the same issue?
Any place to start checking?

92 with the LT-1 6 speed

search the fourms but found nothing
Thanks

almost sounds like the classic exhaust note that happens around that RPM range.

First thing id look at is that everything is nice and tight, balancer and flywheel, as well as all belt driven accessories, if you think it may be an accessory, pull the belt off and try it to see if its still doing it. Check all the exhaust hangers, cats and mufflers too.

You dont say how bad the vibration is.....

Check everything else first, if if nothing helps and you find no other solution, then think about flywheel. I am not sure if the manual has an inspection cover like the auto, if it does, it should be pretty easy to check ;)

OK, Thanks for all the help.
Pulled the belt off....No vibration
Fliped the belt inside out and put it back on ...no vibrations....
Drove the car...no vibrations.....then turned the air on...now it back.
Could the belt be streched out...think a new belt would solve the problem.
Or is the another issue I need to look into?
Thanks

Got ya, 92 with double sidded ribbed belt? If it was me, id see if you can get a kit to change to the 94 belt, they are only ribbed on one side. You could try a new belt, and if it still does it, check the A/C compressor and make sure its tight, make sure the pulleys all line up as good as they can. Is there any sign of the belt wearing worse on one side?

could be that the ac compressor is starting to wear but I would go with a new belt first.

Could be, but dont just go ahead and replace it without any solid evidence to point a finger at it.

Thats a bloody good mate if you can find one that will swap A/C compressors with ya!!!

Give the power steering pump pulley a wriggle and see if its tight, also make sure the A/C compressor is tight and straight first
