Our 1993 Cherokee (I-6) has always been a slow starter, but over the last couple of months or so, it's gotten worse.

And it would always require that you floor the pedal to start, with 5+ second crank times and a killer smell of raw fuel. Once started, the idle sucked. It would take another 20+ seconds to "wake up".

Well... I tested the injectors... the old cardboard test. #3 injector was dripping. Not at a huge rate, but enough to tell me that one injector was bad and the others suspect.

I replaced the 6 with a new set of Ford Motorsports Orange Tops - 19#.

Results?

Start time is now 2 seconds or so. There is no longer the need to floor the throttle, either! The idle is smooth and steady, right after start up.

Total success.

Glad you got it fixed. I never had that problem with my 93 cherokee, but I got rid of it about 7 years ago.

It's been a couple of weeks now, and it's simply running like a brand new Jeep! Fantastic.
