Our 1993 Cherokee (I-6) has always been a slow starter, but over the last couple of months or so, it's gotten worse.
And it would always require that you floor the pedal to start, with 5+ second crank times and a killer smell of raw fuel. Once started, the idle sucked. It would take another 20+ seconds to "wake up". Well... I tested the injectors... the old cardboard test. #3 injector was dripping. Not at a huge rate, but enough to tell me that one injector was bad and the others suspect. I replaced the 6 with a new set of Ford Motorsports Orange Tops - 19#. Results? Start time is now 2 seconds or so. There is no longer the need to floor the throttle, either! The idle is smooth and steady, right after start up. Total success. |

Glad you got it fixed. I never had that problem with my 93 cherokee, but I got rid of it about 7 years ago.
