I'm running a 350 Crate, very mild build so far, with a 750 Holley V2nd. A friend has a complete fuel injection set up that I can have for free.
I don't know anything about Fuel Injection really. So would the swap be worth it or not. What would be the advantages/disadvantages?

What kind of FI system are you talking about?

Or if you're not sure, what did it come out of?

Can't really give you an answer without knowing.

What is your friend's idea of "complete"?

I agree. Free can add up to expensive when you've got to purchase a computer, wiring harness, etc to go along with the hard pieces.

I agree with above. There were a lot of fuel injection systems that were made by GM and people buy and sell and give them away because essentially they are just spare parts from a car or truck that had factory fuel injection. There was TBI, TPI, LT1, Vortec, and a slew of after market setups. The stock systems were all good for the times but on custom fit applications...problems add up fast to high dollar amounts. Trust me, I went through a TPI, TBI, AND LT1 phase before I landed back on carbs because it would have been a lot cheaper.

Sounds like I need stay with the 750. The FI came off a mid 90's truck butI didn't even think about the computer aspect. Don't think I wanna get that deep into a swap like this. It aint like I don't have enough to mess with having a 79'.

Thanks ya'll.

Sounds like a real good idea to stick with a carb.
