Marty LT-1 won't start after gasket replacement

My car is a 95 LT-1, it started to leak oil about three weeks ago. After a brief look over it appeared the oil was coming from the front upper portion of the engine. I broke the engine down and replaced the head/water pump/intake/exhaust gaskets, I also replace the Spark plug wires and spark plugs (gaps are good set at .050).

Once I had it all back together, the car wouldn't start. When I turn the egnition; the crank turns, plugs spark (atleast 1&8 fire only ones I checked), cylinder is getting fuel (smell it on plugs apon removal and fuel rail is pressurized), all sensors are pluged in.

Can anyone help me here?

Marty,
Have you attempted to pull any codes? Easiest place to start I think.

Rabit,

I have not pulled the codes. I will give that a try.

I checked all ingnition wires, coil, and distributor last night. All voltage and ohms were within specs.

Thanks, I will let you know what happens.

This is going to sound SO stupid but I'm saying it from 100% personal experence. Do you have the coil control plug and the (I think MAP it's something close to the coil) plugs reveresed. I know they are supposed to be different but on Arisa they aren't. I spend three plus weeks beating my head, cussing and buying a lot of parts I didn't need to discover this was the problem. Yes I would get random spark but it would never fire up. I swapped them and poof all was good again. I couldn't decide if I should cry or laugh when it was all done.

BTW as a sidenote...I doubt you will find any codes of relevance. Most won't register till the engine RPM's are over 300. Not all but a lot....

good point. I didn't know the coil could be that big a pain.

And yes, the PCM won't return a code until it is running. That is an upside to the LTCC. It has a fault code that will appear if the engine does not start. Very usefull.

That happened to me too times. The first time a fuse blew out. Second time, the rotor button metal piece snapped off...Took me a while to figure it out.
