Is it worth it. How do I identify mine? Rebuild my self or pay someone else.
I like the feel of my current ones. I am the third owner. So I don't know the age of mine |

When I had my 94 with the Adjustable shocks I sent them in to be rebuilt.

You would send them back to Bilstein. No real benefit for a stock vehicle. The benefit is when you want to have them custom valved.

Unfortunately no, I've never done it. But you can buy new for the same cost or less.

I don't think just anyone can rebuild a shock. Modern shocks are pressurized, and that requires specialized equipment.
Rebuild cost is not a huge savings at this price point. If you had Ohlin or Penske racing shocks, the type of shock that cost $2k each, then rebuild is cost effective. However, new Bilstein's are $85, shipped from Tire Rack. Beat that! Koni is a little better, but not a lot. I kept my Koni's for rebuild, but the savings isn't huge. |

Bilsteins need to be rebuild in a pressure chamber
There's no valve to charge them |

Just looked them up at tire rack. That is a deal.
Everyone else was way over $100. And $100+ to rebuild. Thanks Andy |
