Most official type burnout displays use some kind of wheel chocks on the front so you don't have to use brakes. It also helps to keep the water spray coming.

Well I asked a simple question and got a 45 response reply/debate. All theory aside the only thing that would convince me either way is some dyno results. Anyone up for the test??

Is this for real? Has anyone tried one of these? I'd like to see dyno results.

Thanks CC. On Ebay you can buy them by the box. If I lost any I could just replace them provided you could see where the lost ones were placed.

Has anyone tried stick on wheel weights that you can put in the center of the rim as opposed to the standard inside/outside edge weights. One guy at a tire shop said don't bother, they're crap, they fall off. I don't want the ugly weight on the outside of the rim and if I go inside only it's not properly balanced.

Picked up this sweetheart a few weeks ago. 33,000 miles and all original except for some window tint.

Calm, did you remove the back window to work on it or do it on the car?

I just bought the car but when I inquired about the condition of the tires before the sale the previous owner said they "looked like new", at least 80% tread left. Inflated to 32psi cold before I left for home with the car.

It's come to my attention as well that my nice new looking tires were made in 2000, 2001 so I suspect they are a bit hard and contributing to the harsh ride.

So does anyone know what it costs to rebuild bilsteins or where to get it done?

I recently acquired a 94 that appears to be all original. It has bilstein shocks and I am assuming they are original equipment. Am I wrong? Would the previous owner have added them? I haven't checked the option codes but I think it's got the base FE1 set up. The cars only got 33000 miles on it but the one thing I don't like is that I can feel every little crack in the road real bad. Would they need rebuilding already? I know these cars are stiff but I'm hoping to improve the rattle rattle shudder on every tiny bump. Big dips and rises in the road are handled well.

Thanks guys. I was talking to a guy about shocks. His theory is that over time shocks wear most at the point where they normally sit at rest. If you hit larger dips the shock travels to a spot where it's not worn. That's why the older shock works poorly on tiny bumps, cracks etc. I guess I'll find out come spring. I've got all winter to find some replacements.

Hey I picked up a sweet 94 LT1 6sp with only 33000 miles. In fantastic condition. Wondering about changing the shocks (has the original bilsteins, basic suspension not the adjustable one). I don't want it to ride like a Cadillac but roads around here aren't the greatest and right now the car feels real nice on bigger dips and rises in the road but every little crack in the road shudders through the whole car. Has anyone found some smoother shocks or am I fighting a loosing battle?

I see. The hard top was an option for the convertible. Any idea what that option cost?

Hey I'm researching in the hope of buying a nice 93-96 C4 next spring. Anyway I saw a picture of a 96 Collector ed. with a hard top convertible. Can't find any good info. Do they have a soft top under there too? Pull the hard top off and you have access to the soft top? Or are they either a hard top or a soft top but not both? I couldn't see any options listed for a hardtop on the on line fact sheets and options lists.
