What has become a turn off on CF is newbs being told to look it up!

That does strike a nerve with me when I see a brand new member with a "real question" and all they get is "learn to do a search". Every GD time. Dont know why, but that pisses me off.

not that they are being encouraged to look it up but most the time thats about all they post is "Go look it up". Im thinkin', wtf azzhole, is that all??? Why bother?? Dude seems like a nice enough guy so I keep my mouth shut Im not a thread cop anyway. Dammit, if you have the answer help someone out!!

Not everyone has all day to read through 1000 threads...I do understand not making everyone look up your answer though. Whatever.

For some (like me when I was new) it may be their first time on the web and may not even be aware of it.

Now-For some longtimers maybe a different story but take it easy on the new people so they stick around. Not everyone reads every thread if it doesnt pertain to their problem .Many threads have been posted over and over that Ive never opened before.

Yeah that happened to me too many times, makes you feel like a pest. Heck sometimes it's tough just to figure out what your suppose to be asking. Try searching for something you don't know.

The best thing I ever bought was a torpedo Proane Heater. Not sure onthe BTU, but it heats fast. I use my outdorr grill tank on it. PLus around here, Home Depot has a 24 hour tank exchange. $16.80 right now for a full tank. Can't beat it. Doesn't take long at all to heat..especially in your small garage.

That is what I'm using in a three car garage it works great heats it up in no time

Yes, you can re-use the nuts if your careful taking them off. The stud on the emblem is softer, so the nut digs into it. Not sure how many times you could re-use them, but I know more than once or twice. :thumbleft:

Just be carful not to over tighten when putting the nuts back on, you can break off the stud.

I'll be replacing the bushings in the control arms also, so I'll have everything off the car, just like you picture.

Thanks for the info

Hi Brian,

My front suspension is currently apart, so I can basically measure anything you like.

Just let me know. What CAD program will you be using?

Regards,

One question
How do you compress the front leaf spring for assy?
I will be rebuilding the front suspension on my 84 soon. The only thing holding me back was compressing the leaf spring without using some exotic tool.

Sorry for the very late update, but the problem was the coil wires (inside). The wires has small cracks which was causing them to arc across each other. I found it when the car shut off while driving. Replaced the coil and the noise went away.

[quote]Don't know if I'll be there, got the interior torn apart to replace the rear carpet. Never thought I would have to remove most of the interior and the roof to replace the rear carpet :banghead]Shouldn't have to. When you replace the carpet, you start at the rear anyway. Just remove the trim pieces , speaker grills and slide it right out. You may have to remove the halo panels if you need to trim the new carpet in that area. Also the trim pieces in the door jamb area.
Did my entire interior(twice, once in each car) in less than an hour.

Back on topic.

Frank, I'll try to make it out this year, did anybody BBQ last year?

Around here there is no fear of a slight topic deviation
Besides that was valuable for Tom at this time :thumbright:

Back on topic Already planning a BBQ there this year, know anyone that that can cook tenderlion

I make some dynamite hot wings. tenderloin should not be too hard

it could have been replace... or just misread.

check the carfax for 4 years ago... see what the mileage was then.

The one on my 84 (different location of course) is connected to the vacuum reservoir for the cruise control and ?????? I can't tell where the smaller outlet connects to but on my car it runs down the firewall behind the distributor. Could be for the vaccum switch on the brakes that disengages the crusie control.

1984 with Bose

After the tune up I've been getting a static noise, does not get louder with the volume, Stock AC plugs, new wires (not cheap and resistor type), new cap and rotor (non AC).
What could of happened to develop the static noise?
Re-checked all connections, no wires are touching the exhaust manifolds.
Even tried a different set of wires....didn't work.
The noise was not there before the tune up.
