I'm not going to defend him, but he's human. And with his "prominence" every two bit bitch looking for a "sugar daddy" is throwing themselves at him, the chink in his armor was bound to corrode.

When it's all said and done it's going to cost him a fortune.

It was a hectic day at school today, I have a meeting men's church group tonight. I will be working my butt off this weekend. I have the big desk unit all done, they called me yesterday and said that the work in the room was all done and that I can start anytime. But with my meeting tonight, grandson playing b-ball tomorrow night and a home high school game Friday night, I'm pretty well swamped until Saturday morning.

After I get that done they want me to do the trim for the new windows that were installed, so I'll start on that and can, hopefully, get that done before Christmas as well.

I also got word yesterday that I got another cabinet job that I bid on, so I'll have to gear up for that after the first of the year. Not complaining, it's good to be busy.

Turned cold last night, yesterday the high was a very nice 58*, today 29* and windy...quite a change.

Just a normal day here. Those pictures just about made me pass the apple I was eating through my nose. 15 years ago I was coaching our local swim team (summer rec) at the end of the season we had our little get together and the kids thought "I" should put a speedo on and swim, well, I did and it wasn't pretty.

I am ready, so is the superintendent. With the budget cuts headed our way he's talking about rifting people, so I'm sure he's licking his chops thinking about saving the money from my salary and the costs of running my shop. I have had a job offer to do some IT work for the local bank, just not sure if I want a full time job, was looking for a part time job so I could continue expanding my cabinet and furniture making business.

I'm back and glad after the long week in KC. I have to come home and back to school to rest. It was a crazy day today at school...I told my classes that we only have 15 school days until the end of the semester, some of them are freaking, because they have screwed off so much now they have a sh!tload to get done...Oh well, I've been telling them that since September.

Blondie....what do you mean close range? 30-06 and a squirrel at any range, I doubt you could find any hair...Ha-ha.

Back in high school I grew one to look older. I had it until I turned 40. One night when I was trimming it up, I just whacked it off. It felt really weird for a few days, it took my wife about a day to notice. I grew it back once about 6 months later and it had too much gray in it, so I whacked it off again... this time to look younger. A couple years ago I tried the stashe and goatee...it just wasn't me so I've been facial hairless since then, if not shaving except 2 or 3 times a week counts.

Afternoon CG's. I had a light day today. I put the second coat of mud on some and sanded most of the other stuff. I'm calling the bedroom good for texture. The utility room could use a little more work, but I don't think I'm going to be around long enough this trip to get it done.

Sure glad the wife didn't want to fight all those people yesterday, think I'll do most of my shopping on- line.

I worked mt arse off today. Started at 8:30 or so this morning and just now got out of the shower 8pm. I put the second coat of mud on the sheetrock I did yesterday, then we started on the utility room. Took down some rock that was there and put new up. Got the walls all rocked as well and then all taped and mudded the first coat there. Installed a can light fixture too, so I was electrician too. Made lots of headway, but there is a lot to do. Did I tell you guys this is all supposed to done before the daughter has her baby? Well, it is and she is due in March, Just not sure when we will get back again, living 400 miles away makes it tough, so when we get here I work like a dog.

I glanced at HCF, very nice as usual, but I'm too pooped to even think about that....

Thanks Don, I really like it. It's so much easier than the 94 to get in and out of. It has tons more room for luggage, we took it on vacation this past August and had plenty of space, golf clubs, suitcases, cooler, etc. My wife wasn't too keen on the idea of two either...room or not, she didn't think I needed two.

The little accents to the seats add a lot. I can get them with mag red in place of the black, and I thought that's what I wanted, but with a little Photoshop work, I really didn't like it as well as the black.

My pickup has all black interior (well I think they call it charcoal, but it's very nearly black), and as much as I like my pickup, If I could change one thing about it, it would be for a lighter color interior.

My next door neighbor's diabetes has gotten so bad that he has sold all of his toys...antique cars, tools, etc, because he just can't see well enough to work on them or drive them. He's a bit older than you, but not old at all. Sometimes life throws curves at you, and we don't handle it so well, but you must move on. I'm with Andy, you really need to see a specialist.

Hey guys! I've been really busy the last two days. The wife and I did the Grandparent day at the granddaughters school yesterday morning and I worked on the garage conversion project for a bit. Then my daughter calls and asks me to call her hubby, so I do. He wants to know if I can pick up the car dolly at the U-haul place and then pick up the Mariner and haul it over to the daughters boss's house who is going to work on it, (See posts from two weeks ago, to read about this saga), good thing I'm in the pickup. So I go and rent the dolly and drive back to their house about 10 miles, I ask him where we go to pick up the car....He says it's about 3 blocks from the U-haul place where I just picked up the dolly...Oh wellllll. We got it on the dolly and and hauled it out to the place where he is going to work on it, get it unloaded and head back. I unhook the dolly and leave it there, as we are staying with the other daughter and there's not room to park the PU and the dolly.

This morning we get up and head over to pick up the dolly and take it back. After that we stop and pick up dome materials we need for the garage conversion project and head back. So this afternoon I've been hanging sheetrock and taping and mudding. This evening we are back to the other daughters house and we are watching the kids as she and her hubby are going over to Lawrence to watch KU basketball game.

This evening while they are gone I'm going to work on trying to fix her van. Several weeks ago someone keyed the cr@p out of the side of her van. Estimated $560 to fix...$500 deductible, so Dad comes to the rescue. I bought one of those Langka kits and have read, several times, the instructions and watched the videos, so we are going to give it a try. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Tomorrow we are back to the other daughters for T-giving, I'll probably try to get a second coat of mud on the seams.

Sorry to have written a novel here, I just wanted to catch up.

I got all my spraying done this weekend and got the cabinets finished up ready to install. We are all packed up and ready to leave for KC as soon as I get out of school....with one minor delay.

I went to a Knights of Columbus meeting last night and thought of something that I needed at home. So I pulled out my phone and it is dead. What really hacks me off is, it was working not 2 hours before. I can't really complain as this phone is over 4 years old and had performed flawlessly until yesterday. The worst is, I lost all my phone numbers. so I'll have to get a new phone before we head out today.

Notice I said "step up a few years" not necessarily an upgrade. Although there are more things I like about my C5 than I dislike comparing it to my C4.

It's really hard to find these cars without the Black interior. 64% of the total 2001 production had black interiors. And similar figures for 2000.

Matt, it works that way as Grandpa too. Wife and I slept in, I got up about 8:30. I need to finish up putting hinges on the doors and getting them on the cabinets today. Not a football fan, so I won't miss that.

Beings we are going to be gone until next Sunday, the wife is going to put Christmas up today. She's already started getting stuff out. If the weather cooperates I'll put the lights on the house today...but it's already windy, so I may not get that done.

I've missed this thread, but I came here originally when it was C4 Guru, then in May 09 I traded the 94 for my Mag Red 01. I think that there will be a few more people step up a few years in the future.

I'll return the well wishes! We are leaving Monday afternoon for the Thanksgiving break too. Heading for KC to spend time with the two daughters and their families, and continuing the garage to master bedroom suite for the one daughter. Not sure how much/if at all, I'll be able to touch base here.

VB, good luck with getting the buck. Sounds like you need to go out and kill something.

Man, I was a busy beaver today. I got up and out to the shop by 8 and started sanding and spraying the desk unit. Nice thing about lacquer is that it dries fast. I shot about 3/4 of a gallon on the multiple coat. This afternoon I got the drawer slides mounted and the drawers installed in the cabinets. Tomorrow, I'll get the door hinges on and the doors mounted, then I'll basically be waiting for the room to get to where I can install the cabinets and the top is supposed to be here November 30 or Dec 1, So I can get it mounted and be done with that project.

Matt, it's always good to help out the neighbor, and I'm glad that the little one is getting better. Brad, it was 60* here today, I'd call that gorgeous...wished I'd had time to get the Vette out and take it for a drive, but as you can tell I was pretty busy. Bill, that sounds like western Kansas weather!

To what, BLACK? Just exactly the color I didn't want. Sorry the "Light Oak" is the color I wanted. But I am considering new leather covers.

I have a desk unit/bookcase that I built. 10' long 24" deep and 8' tall. I promised the people it would be done and installed before Christmas. I need to get this part finished before I can get the top....a solid surface material similar to Corian.

I wouldn't worry about the age difference. Mom needs to understand that age shouldn't matter, your happiness is what's important here. You being 27 (almost) are younger than my youngest daughter, so I'm thinking that I must be about the same age as your parents (I'm 54 almost 55). I don't think that the age thing would bother me.

Happy Thursday to all. It's another day here at school... the kids are "normal" today. We have a short week next week, only Monday and Tuesday, but I have taken Tuesday off, so the wife and I can go to KC and go to our Granddaughter's schools Grandparents Day. So that means an even shorter week for me. The grandson here has the last game of their pre-season tourney today. They are 2-0, but today should be the real challenge for them. I will be spraying lacquer this weekend on the cabinets I built and promised to have done and installed before Christmas. Some might think I'm hurrying things, but Christmas is coming up on us FAST.

OK, it's been a while since I checked this thread.....

First off, thanks to everyone for the nice comments. Now Matt, yes I know it's time for a new plate, but, I wasn't going to pay for a new one as these phase out when I renew anyway, so with that said, I ordered new vanity plates today.

MY U4IA

Andy, it is an Auto. I drove some 6 speeds and although I liked them, It didn't take too long of driving it in KC traffic to let me know that was a real PITA, so it had to be an auto for me.

Since these pictures were taken, I've changed out the stock exhaust for a Corsa Pace Car system with the Pro tips....me likes the sound now! Red wasn't my first choice...as a matter of fact, it wasn't a choice at all...but after seeing this Mag Red, it changed my mind in a hurry. These pictures are after detailing it with clay, swirl and haze remover and two coats of Adams Americana paste wax. Now I HAVE to do something with the brake rotor hats, the rust just doesn't do the rest of the car justice. ( A winter project)

I'm sort-of caught up on things. The kids are a little more calm today. The weather is very seasonal today. The sun is shining, but it's pretty cool 28* right now, but they are predicting mid 50's today.

Grandson played again today. It was a closer game 34-28, he had 13 points in the win.

It's been a busy day, school, then grandson's first B-ball game today. Wasn't much of a game, 42-8. My grandson had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Doesn't hurt that he's a 6'0" 12 year old 7th grader and the other teams "big guy" was about 5'5". But in all fairness to my gs, he's pretty good.

Dreamride, that is some tough duty you're pullin' there. To have it so hard.

David, if we ever move I swear that I'm going to have movers to do the job, but WE will do the packing, yours isn't the first time I've heard those kinds of stories. Pete, I wouldn't want your schedule. Brian, hope you get to feeling better. Tommy we are going to be around our daughter's In-laws, MIL is kind of hard to take, FIL is a pretty good guy, so yea we do it to appease the kids. Matt, my wife is talking about putting Christmas up this weekend...pretty darned early for me, but since we won't be around for Thanksgiving (our traditional time to put Xmas up)I guess it almost has to be this weekend, or I may not get it put up at all.....hmmmm, now there's a thought!

Funny you say that Brad. I am also dealing with a problem with my youngest daughter (married and have daughter of their own). Here is the short version:

She calls me last Sunday and says that her car, an 06 Mercury Mariner, was having problems. Apparently, they went to WallyWorld, and everything was fine, when they came out they started it and started to back out, but the engine was running real rough, so she pulled back in and parked it. Her hubby pops the hood and checks oil and finds no oil on the dipstick. Goes back in and buys some oil and puts in three quarts to bring it up to the safe zone. But now the engine won't start. Have it hauled to a mechanic where they tell her that she needs a new engine. They don;t have the money for a new engine, so guess who is putting a new engine in their car? I found a used engine and she talked to her boss (kind of a gearhead about my age) and he said he'd do the swap for her.

During my initial talk with her I asked if they checked to the oil.."No since we changed it 5000 miles back." "You don't check the oil when you fill with gas?" "No, are we supposed to?" I guess I did too much for them as they grew up and didn't teach them enough....

Hi guys! I got up early and went down to school to do a brake job on my pickup. It has been squeaking when I back up, she has over 100K on her, so I figured it was time. Pulled things apart and found that the fronts weren't too bad, Drivers side front rotor was worn a little funny but there was lots of pad left. Passenger side front rotor and pads were in pretty good shape. Passenger side rear inside pad was down to squeaker (there's where the noise was coming from) but the outside pad looked like it was only half used? Drivers side rear looked pretty good. I had already bought new rotors and pads so I proceeded to go ahead. I broke off the T-55 torx bit trying to get the caliper bolt loosened on the very first bolt, so had to stop and go buy another, finally got that done and then had a heck of a time removing the "halos" but did. Then when I pulled the dr side rear rotor off, the e-brake pad had ground a groove into the rotor about an 1/8" deep. Apparently some time when the e-brake had been applied, it didn't release. Anyway I got it all back together and then sucked out the master cylinder of all the old crappy looking fluid and replaced with new and then bled all. I've got really good brakes again, ready for another 100K...but it took most of the day.

Weather is supposed to move it tonight and we are under a winter storm watch until noon Monday.

I never go to a casino and walk away with more than I went in with....they say walk away when you get ahead...well I would never go in then.

We are supposed to be in the 60's today, but in for a huge change starting tonight. Cold and rainy tomorrow and 70% chance for accumulating snow Sunday.

I'm glad it's Friday. I hope you all have a great Friday!

Where was this thread?.....If it was here, how'd I miss it? Been a pretty nice day here, I'm watching the boys as the wife and daughter are doing an H1N1 vaccine clinic. They are tired as am I, so it's really quiet. I'm glad tomorrow is Friday, it's been a long week.

Matt, happy birthday to the other half.

Tommy, you're reaching right into our high school years....

My wife was goo-goo over both Bobby Sherman and David Cassidy.

Hummmmmm, what a refreshing idea, measure first, then cut. Funny, I just told one of my students this morning the same thing...just between you and me, I think he cut it too small, but we'll see tomorrow.

Cool, cloudy and damp again today. I have been working pretty hard in my shop after school and into the evening on a built in desk unit that I promised to have done and installed before Christmas. Tonight I need to build the cabinet doors and drawers. I'll shoot some pictures when I get a little further along.

This paintball thing is a bunch of crap. It wouldn't be bad if they would just go out and shoot each other or to a place where they do this, but they seem to have to shoot everything in sight.

Brad, I agree 100% with you on a thumbs up to our servicemen/women, past and present.

I don't think common sense is dead.......he just changed his name to uncommon, because he is no longer common.

I try to use common sense on my students and they don't have a clue what it is.

Matt, those things seem to happen quite often. People don't realize how much weight is on those things. Brad, I hope you can do it. A normal day here, very November-like, cool and dreary looking outside.

I had a very busy Sunday...Left the house at 8:30am and got home at 9pm. Today the clouds have moved in, possibility of rain, but still warmer than normal. Kids are calmed down today, so maybe the weather change had some effect.
