Morning Gurus, tried to get the Vette safety inspected after school, they couldn't do it until I get the title, oh well, I'll get that this week sometime. Went to the Grandsons' vocal concert last night (a sign that school is nearly over). Tonight I have to install some shelving that I built for some people here in town, and have a meeting later on. Looks like another busy day.

Glad to hear that the sick people are getting better.

Golf sucks? Must have not been as successful as I was in my first outing. It'll get better.....or stay the same......or get worse. :-)

I found out late in the morning our "Mens Night" golf started last night. I wasn't going to go out, but the wife says "Go", so I went out. Costs $20 to play and eat. Got teamed up with three others and we won the tourney last night. I even played reasonably well. Had a nice big rib eye, baked potato, salad and a brewsky and after winning I went home with $10 more in my pocket than I went out with. So all is good.

The kids here at school oogled the new Vette. I don't usually drive the Vette to school, but some of the other teachers and my principal wanted to see it, so I parked it behind the shop where nobody normally parks. I did find finger prints all over though.

Home improvement projects are fun, and I know the need for those lawn buildings. Sounds like Matt got a heck of a deal.

Sick kids and feeling sick yourself just sucks, I hope everyone gets to feeling better.

Back when I was younger, climbing a tower would not have bothered me, but as I get older I don't care for those heights, be careful up there.

Don, yes our cars were soul-mates, but sometimes you just have to move on. The big thing is, the wife is happy she can get in and out of this one much easier. I looked at a couple C6s, they were just too much more than I wanted to, or really could afford to, go.

I am having a normal school day, trying to straighten out the crap that went wrong while I was gone on Friday.

Only 8 more days for my seniors, and 13 more for everyone else.

Hi guys, I've been MIA the last three days. Friday I got up early 3:30AM and left for Albuquerque at 4. Drove 460 miles and traded my 94 for a 2001 Coupe, then jumped in the car and drove back home. Arrived back home at about 8pm. 930 miles about 13 hours on the road. Yesterday morning I got up to clean the "new" Vette. Worked about 5 1/2 hours on it and was planning on coming in and posting here, but right in the middle of wiping the Zaino off (2nd coat), my MIL calls and ask if we could come see them today (we were going to go up and back today anyway, almost 3 hours trip one way). The wife says "Sure, Tom's about done with the Corvette). So at 3pm we jump in the Vette and take off for her folks place. An hour and a half out it starts misting, its making my nice clean car not so clean. Oh, well it'll clean up again....

About 30 minutes later coming out of a little town there is this mid 80s Cavalier doing about 60 so I pass it, punch the cruise (set for 70) and continue on my way, the next thing I know this little old Cavalier is riding my @ss, maybe a car length back. Just about this time we meet a KHP officer. Immediately his brake lights come on and he whips a U and comes flying right back up on us. The Cavalier starts to pull over and the KHP starts pulling over too, then serves back on the road and comes flying up on me and turns his lights on. I stop and he gets out of his car and walks up behind me and looks at the temp tag (taped to the inside of the rear window), then come up and asks for my license. He says that the reason he stopped me was that he couldn't/didn't see my tag, but everything looked to be in order. And then he says "Were you and the gray car behind you traveling together?" I said "No, " and then told him what had happened. He said "Well, I turned around to stop her, but when I didn't see a tag on your car I came after you." He then gave me my license back and said drive safely...and BTW, nice car."

I had my white 94 for nearly five years and was never stopped once....I buy a RED car and get stopped after owning it for a little over 24 hours.....don't tell me Red doesn't attract attention.

Any way we just got home from the in-laws a while ago and the first thing I did was wash the car, and put on a third coat of Zaino. Too dark to take pictures today, but good pictures will be coming. Here are a couple when I got home Friday night...remember it's dirty.

Just dropped in on this thread. I think the big reason for me moving to the C5 is the ease of entry and egress. I'm getting a little bit older and my knees aren't what they used to be. I love my 94, but after driving a few C5s they are much more nimble, quicker and just as much fun to drive. I personally think they lack a bit in the looks dept compared to the C4, but it's one of those things I'll have to deal with. I was just out a little bit ago getting ready for my trip to Albuquerque tomorrow and man it's hard to think about trading it in, but I know I'll be happy with the 01.

Well, work-wise this is Friday for me. Tomorrow at this time I hope to be about half way to Albuquerque. I have been watching the weather and keeping my fingers crossed that it is decent for my trip. I'll probably miss the Friday chat, but it's a sacrifice that I'll make. :-)

Being a woodworking teacher, that story has multiple implications. First off I'll tell you that a lot of kids have no idea about counting change...or anything else for that matter. And just last week I had kids from our ecology class come in and ask if they could take some pictures, so I say "Sure." These two girls say, "I have never been in this building before." So I say "So, what do you need pictures of and what's the assignment?" And they say that they need pictures of people wasting and ruining the forests and the bad objects that are made of wood.....I am floored. It just hit me wrong, I told them to take whatever pictures they needed and get out. Then Later that day I confronted the teacher and told her not to send kids out to my class, as her students have the completely wrong idea about what is ecologically responsible.

What a bunch of cr@p.

Afternoon Gurus...no kids today, we have inservice, personally, I'd rather have the kids.

Only one more day until I head out to trade cars, now I am getting pretty excited. Should be a nice day for me to take a 6 1/2- 7 hour drive, then another 6 1/2- 7 hours back.

I know exactly what you mean about the golf game. My golfing buddy moved about 5 years ago and now I don't really have anyone saying "Hey let go out to the course." So i haven't put much in either.

I have been working to get all the ducks in a row for my trip this Friday. I think the wife is more excited than I am on this trade. She has already said that we should drive it to see her folks on Sunday (about a 3 hour drive each way). :-)

Hey, CGs, I'm a bit late today. It's been one h3ll of a day. You can sure figure out that the school year is running down near the end. The kids are wild! Sometimes I wonder if I can really make it one more year to retirement....

Oh well, Friday is coming and my trip to possibly trade the 94 for an 01 coupe, so I am getting kind of excited.

That just stinks, I don't want or need that kind of thing happening right now...I'm less than a week away from trading mine in, and something like that would definitely screw the pooch.

Morning fellows, today looks to be a much busier day. I just got an email asking me to do some printing, my drafting class has a large format printer and everyone in the district calls on me to print stuff larger than normal. It's Friday and things are busy for the weekend. My youngest, her hubby and granddaughter are coming in tonight from KC. And one of the grandsons from here is making first communion on Sunday, so the weekend is going to be busy.

That's always cool, especially with the first one, then it gets to be old hat and you're wishing they would stay babies longer.

We work and prod and encourage them to start talking and walking, then once they do we spend the next 18 years telling them to sit down and shut-up! :-)

I've been through that same thing with 7 grandkids...and the 8th one isn't far from taking those first steps. Congrats it is exciting times.

Yea, well I'm going to open the school shop tonight for those kids that want to make up some time for all these activities that take them away during the day. I suppose I'll get 10-12 kids show up. I'm dog tired right now, but I'll perk up in a bit, and the two hours I have it opened goes by real fast.

Morning guys...the wife made it home last night from her 4 day, out of town meeting. She immediately starts cleaning the house, I thought I'd done a pretty good job keeping it clean....oh well.

Today is just another day at school. My first hour class is working on a group project which doesn't require a lot of my attention, until they start asking questions...which they are calling...later

Good morning....I have nothing planned special....not quite as many kids gone today. I spent some time cleaning the Vette yesterday, I'm only 10 days away from going to the dark side. I must admit I'm getting a little excited.

I got woke up this morning by my middle grandson (8 years old), so excited about "Venus and the Moon", had to go out and take a look at it, it was pretty cool.

Beautiful day today, I put in for a personal day May 1, to drive the Vette to Albuquerque and trade for a 2001 coupe. Got the insurance and a little financing lined up yesterday. Insurance is only about $80/6 months more than the 94, I can live with that. Another slow day school-wise, track team, Baseball, softball and golf all going on.

Besides teaching school, I do custom cabinetry/furniture building and I do some computer building, repairing, networking. After I retire from teaching (1 more year) I hope to be able to supplement my retirement with doing this work for myself on a more full time basis.

Well, good morning. My weekend was about what I expected, Prom was OK, Food was good, just not very much of it. This week looks to be crap again. I hate trying to teach in the springtime, so many activities, kids gone all the time and everyone has one of two illnesses......Senioritis and springfever.......including some of us teachers ;-) The wife is out of town for a few days so I get to pick up the grandsons (4, 8 and 12 years old)from school and watch them until our daughter picks them up after work, so I get to spend some quality time with them.

I am in the process of trying to sell my 94 and buying a "newer" Corvette. I know, I know the C4s are a great car, but I am going to move to "the Dark side". Found one I really like and am planning a trip to Albuquerque (8 hour drive)to test drive and look it over. I don't want to deplete our savings, so I am going to borrow some of the money to do this. I need to check the going rates here and see how much I want to borrow.

I'm headed out to the shop and spray some lacquer. Should I wear my respirator....or not? Yea, I think I will.

Yea heard about it, it's supposed to be very good at what it does. I don't like Norton, it's just too much of a resource hog, puts computers to sleep. McAfee is getting there too, never messed with Trend-Micro.

I watched her on the "Today" show this morning.....hey guys she's never been married....never even been kissed! She's available!!!!!

They might have a little "slap", my pickup (99 Silverado) has the 5.3 and it is a little noisy when it is first started (cold), but the noise goes away very quickly. And they say not to worry about it.

It's just another day at school for me. I'm not very up at all. Springtime in a high school means, track, baseball, softball and golf nearly every day, so it's pretty hard to teach anything. And today we have every one of those activities going on, so we may as well cancel school. (It's a small school, 218 students in grades 9-12). The temperature is going to be nice (mid 70's), but as is typical for Kansas, the wind is going to BLOW today. Glad I could participate today!

In the whole scheme of things, one day isn't a deal breaker. Our life probablywon't be measured by a single day(although there exceptions), but how we live our days. So with that said, I try to live mine as if it was dependent on this one single day, that way, when it comes to be judgment day I can say I did the best I could. Priorities must be set, and whatever you deem needs to be done is what you should do and to heck with those other things.

I have a ton of things that need to be done before spring break (starts Friday afternoon), but how much actually gets done is yet to be seen.
