I wanted to try this weekend, but it is going to to be too cool out. Oh what else is new ? Warm all week, getting home late, too lazy to fire her up.

Thanks CC, last time the AC guuy only put a single can of R12 in. My leak is very minimal, but the AC light has been flashing for a couple of months. I would just put it on Bi Level. I'm afraid there is still some refrigerate and pressure involved. I would have to have the refrig.(whats left) recovered before the accumulator could be replaced. I would like to have someone with experience take a look at it, but the last time it looked so easy (hell I can do this). I bought eight cans of R12 and I'm going to need it soon.

So I got everything I need to recharge my system. Gauges, R12, manuals with pressure readings and temperature range. I've have watched it being done, but it was a year ago and I don't remember the low side and high side. I think the low side line is the fitting near the accumulator. Is the high side fitting on a smaller line near the cooling coil ? I'm also hoping the compressor will kick on when I put it on max cold, cause not sure how to jumper it, any help guys, thanks.

Sorry about your dad Pappy, played golf today since the yard doesn't need mowing. Nice and windy down here. But warm.

I think a licensed gun is allowed in courts,, if they show up to confiscate your registered guns, you say " I don't owned it anymore". There is no law about selling them or giving them away. I recently joined the NRA and haved owned guns for years. I won't give mine up.

Years ago, my wife and I would go to the sprint car races. They had a go kart oval track ( it was called Slick Track ). They sprinkled baby powder on the smooth concrete, what a blast. The trick was not to spin out in the curves, someone would lose it and take everyone out. Never laughed so hard.

I'm Dean, I have an awesome wife of 24 years. 21 year old daughter in college and a 17 year old son. Lived where ever my stepdad took us. (NC, Calif, OK, Tx) When first married we moved to California and loved it until our daughter was born ( that's when we found what good friends we had ). Moved home to Texas to be closer to grandparents. Work for UPS as a driver for 19 years. This vette was a gift from my stepmom who never knew me because my real parents split up when I was a newborn. My real dad had died of cancer in 1992 and only drove the car a couple of times. My stepmom found me thru a search ( we both where in the Houston area ) We got close and after some time passed I found out she had his vette in storage and I offered to buy it. She said " your dad would want you to have it" She signed it over, hence the name Dads90. He rides with me always.

Thanks CC, I will work on it. It's funny how one shift it falls right into place, and the next time I have to double clutch it. I really have to concentrate, the ZF has 40,000 miles on it, but hell, I have always had slave issues.

I would probably not make it home in time for dinner, I'd just keep driving in circles. I would have to have a Jack N Box drive thru installed as well.

The tire tread was obviously shallower than a pennies head. Or maybe low tire pressure, but probably the typical gapping hole in the plastic one ply.

It makes driving it fun again. Does anybody experience a click between 3 and 4 ? From 2nd to 3rd I have to allow it to center for a fraction of a second and then hit 3rd. Any tips.. I'm looking at another slave bleed to try and force more air out, maybe that will make it smoother.

Actually they are just area rugs I cut to fit. They cover the original and keep them clean. When I drive it to work, I don't worry about getting oil or grease on the matts.

You are correct, sir !! I've read alot about how Bose system sucks, but with the changer its sounds good. I know there is better out there, but this way I can keep close to stock.

Please enlighten me. CS144. What exactly is it? The part # of a heavy duty GM alt. perhaps?

I think it was originally used in the ZR-1, it is a heavy duty better designed alternator. Its only a minor mod., like filing down a tap to fit under the bracket correctly.

Told the wife the car was shifting bad, hanging up, wearing out, I neeeded a new one and the GM was 500 bucks,, she fell for it. "Honey, I can get a better shifter for a whole lost less online". Well she got suppicious when the Hurst showed up the very next day. Damn that was fast shipping. Jacked it up, dropped the exhaust and grabbed every size hammer and punch I had. The first punch I grabbed I just put it on the pin to check its size and the dang pin went flying out. ALRIGHT !!! I've read all the horror stories. Boy was I happy, so happy I replaced the slave cylinder too while the exhaust was out. I like the Hurst, it taking a little to get used to. No reverse lockout, the throw is sweet, a little notchy on shifts, very happy though.

I've lost count on mine. Tried the Iceberg rebuild, lasted two months. The one I got now I don't even know the brand, just bought online cheap and its lasted a year ( knock on wood ). Did do the Big three ground, and I will probably go with the CS144 next time.

There is actually a vacuum spot. Sorta slightly 8 inches above and 1 inch behind the rear quadrant of the driver side mirror. If you hit that spot exactly the luggie will propel itself out and away form the car. It takes lots of practice, and I'm presently at a 60 % rate.

A mechanic friend reccomened putting a 17 mm nut on a larger bolt and if you use a large box end wrench you can get better leverage. The long hex head would tend to slip off when I would pull the ratchet. The larger bolt would keep the 17 mm snug within the hex fitting and make it less likely to slip out.

Datamaster gives you 20 scans for free when you first download it. It works great, I wasted 6 scans trying to figure it out, after that it is great, got the USB cable online.

If the coils in the injectors are going bad the heat causes them to act up. Did you ohm them ? Might try that.

The replacement kit is pretty cheap and mine came with the socket wrench to remove the mast. It took a couple of tries to get the mast to feed in right. It looks alot easier than pulling the whole motor assembly.

If you jack it up and take off the front wheels (as suggested) remove the inner fender well. Then you look straight through at the whole set up #2 thru #8. I found it hard to pull off the spark plug wires even with the wells removed. Might consider a plug wire puller.( seen on fea-bay). Good luck.

If it doesn't hold the pump is cheap at Rockauto.com. Did the same thing and it still leaked. Fun getting the big nut off the pump itself. I used a deep socket, extension and turned the reservoir upside down to reassemble..

I could only suggest the trip reset side is bad. That whole side with the buttons is an easy replacement.

I went with the Ford SVO injectors from Five-o Motorsports, after allot of threads, reviews etc., I sure hope the ones I got were not rebuilt, removed or anything less then new. The bags they were in didn't look factory, just baggies. So I could blame the miss on them, but the thought of replacing them again is agonizing. They all Ohm out at 15.1 to 15.4 so they are consistent. They are the yellow tops which I think are rated at 22 lbs.

I wouldn't brush it on. I'd go ahead and buy the cheapest paint gun and try to spray it.

Borrow or rent a compressor. Actually this may be a good reason to buy a small compressor.

Thats how I roll, figure in the cost of what someone's labor would involve and get the compressor and you saved bucks.. At least thats what you tell the wife. Any paint will work.
