Do you still have the chrome C5 thin spokes?
Personally, I like those better than three choices above.

What's funny is I had a can of Krylon semi-gloss in the shop. I also picked up a can of the new Krylon Ultra Cover semi-gloss. I sprayed them side by side on some scrap sheet metal. There's a noticable difference in the amount of gloss.
I'll use both on the car since some parts on the car came from different sources that used different levels of semi-gloss (like the oil fill tube, relay covers,etc.).

I found the guide I used.

I'm assuming the exterior will match the block. What color yellow is it? Looks fluorescent from here.

The black sidepipes on the '69 is really interesting - never seen that.

BC, how large is your club? We've only got a handful of C3s in ours, but we're not a large club.

Update ...

After several months of use, it has worked pretty nicely. However, I am about to make a slight modification. After breaking in and loosening up a bit, the main linkage elbow will travel over-center and allow a little "bouncing". I suspected this might happen, and have thought of a couple of ways to add an adjustable positive stop to prevent it. I have a temporary fix in place, but will probably end up machining a block to attach to the lower aluminum linkage, something like this:

There is a hotel or two within walking distance of the museum, but I haven't heard any good words about them. We just stayed at the LaQuinta Inn (1953 Mel Browning Street 270-783-0083). Its a pretty nice place, about 5 miles from the museum/plant, and reasonably priced. Some of our friends stayed at the Fairfield Inn on the same road, probably around the same rates.

Unfortunately I have no experience with 275s. My last set were 255/60R15s on all fours, on the stock rims (8" with no offset). I would get an occasional slight rub in the front during tight turning (usually parking), but I don't recall anything close at all in the rear. And I don't think there is any significant difference in the '76 and '78 fenders around the wheel wells.

As far as the mfg spec question, I really don't know. But I'm pretty sure mine came from the factory with 225s.

Looks like you would need to fab some adaptor brackets, but it looks pretty simple.

And they do look nice.

I’ve been meaning to do a short write-up about my C5 seat conversion, so here you go …

I got this pair of well-used C5 standard seats from a friend’s ’99. With over 120k on 'em, they were shot.
Resized Image

After checking out the differences, I chose to stick with the manual C3 tracks. I didn’t want to modify my floorpans to the extent it would have required to except the C5 tracks, not to mention figuring out the wiring harness.
Resized Image

After removing the C5 tracks, I ground off and knocked out the outer rivets in the rear of the seat frame. Luckily, they are at the perfect locations for the tracks. I also ground flush the foremost rivet heads.
Resized Image

I then threaded the two rear holes. The rivets were ¼”, so the holes were already a good size for a 5/16-18 tap.
Resized Image
Resized Image

Next I attached the C3 tracks in order to locate the forward holes. I used some socket head cap screws from the hardware store.
Resized Image
Resized Image

Then drilled and tapped the front holes. Here you can see why I ground down the forward rivets.
Resized Image
Resized Image

With the C3 tracks mounted, in order to avoid interference between the track mechanism and seat frame, I used spacers at the bolts – large hex nuts temporarily, which I’ve since replaced with machined aluminum spacers.
Resized Image
Resized Image

Here’s one mounted in the car, along with one of the originals.
Resized Image

And here’s what they look like with new foam and covers.
Resized Image

Pros:
Much more comfortable.
Bolster support, which is really nice in the twisties.
Lightweight aluminum and fiberglass frame.
Nice availability and options for covers and foam, which are easy to install.
And they look really dang nice.

Cons:
Relatively pricey.
They sit higher, especially with new foam. I’m 5’11”, and I’ve only got a couple of inches of headroom with the fiberglass t-tops in. Glass tops would give a little more room. I’ve heard of mounting them directly to the floor, with no tracks, which would gain back those couple inches, but that wasn’t an option for me.

That's about it - I'd certainly do it again.

When the Super Chevy Show visits Thunder Valley this September, a new tradition will highlight the 30th Annual event and will benefit a local charity all at the same time.

Vettes of the Smokies, along with Wellmont Health System, will host the inaugural Corvette Show on Saturday, Sept. 25. A portion of each entry from the Corvette show will be given to the Children’s Miracle Network by Vettes of the Smokies.

The Vettes of the Smokies is offering two different registration packages for anyone interested in displaying their classic.

For a $100 entry fee, Corvette owners receive:
* Admission for two on Saturday and Sunday to the Super Chevy Show
* Admission into the Corvette Show
* Five laps around Bristol Motor Speedway
* A commemorative picture, t-shirt, and dash plaque
* A complimentary cookout in the Bruton Smith Suite
* Free admission to the Fas Mart Thunder Valley Mayhem

A second entry option costs $65 and includes:
* Admission to the Corvette Show
* Five laps around BMS

The National Corvette Museum will be on site, along with several other vendors. Officials with Super Chevy Show will judge the car show and present awards at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Anyone interested in taking part can register online or call (423) 989-6900.
