Actually they had to shell out $20,000,000 in a class action lawsuit for false advertising.

Of course I'm not saying SeaFoam is a sham, but the power of suggestion is usually stronger than fact for most people. I just wish the FTC would make an example out of more of these types of thieves.

Really I never heard that before...but yeah,your right, many people would buy just about anything if it had enough hype to it.

I have fiberglass front and rear so it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Thanks!

I have plenty of room in my garage to build a make-shift booth. I think I am going to buy some and paint a old C3 hood I have and see what it turns out like.

Just saw this stuff at Pep Boys. I know its probably not worth the can its in, but has anyone ever used it? Its like $20 for a can of black.

The thing is that it is a base coat-clear coat system but yet its laquer? Crazy.

We now have 10 teams...would like to have more, but 10 is good also. If you still want to sign up, do so now.

It's free!!! I will start the draft tomorrow night August 25th. I am bumping the draft date up because 1) we seem to have gotten everyone who would be interested in joining, and 2) I want to allow enough time before the first week of play so we can adjust our teams as needed.

Unfortunately this happens way too often. ANd I can really sympathize with you. Makes you feel like you wanna take a baseball bat to their head.

I think it should be made a law that if they have no insurance and its their fault, then they give you everything they have until the debt is paid. And I am speaking of all races....if its LAW that you have insurance, and you broke it, then you should pay the piper.

Yes we will be on auto draft simply because I don't think we can get everyone on at the same time to do a live draft. So, you don't have to do anything this week except recruit some more teams!

I am going to do the draft on AUG 30th. This is FREE to do!

We will not be doing any widgets and there is no buy-in...totally 100% free and 100% fun. Even if you don't know anything about football, try anyway...nothing to lose!

Well mine dropped from about 760 to 680 now its back to 720. 2009 it is taken off of our credit and it should go back up.

Again, I didn't have ANY problem getting credit for things after the three years of payments were through.

Chapter 11 is to "wipe the slate clean". Chapter 13 is when you pay back those creditors that file for their money. It is usually a 3 year plan. You pay the court designee and they pay out the dough. I think you pay something like $.75 on the dollar owed. But the good thing is that there are no late fees or interest paid out. It doesn't take a real big hit on your credit as we were able to purchase two homes,refinance one, and buy three different cars even with it on there. Of course, you CANNOT apply for any type of loan or credit during your three years of paying if you do Ch. 13.

Ch 11 sounds better because who don't have to pay anything back, however you have to meet certain criteria like not making too much income. Plus, with secured loans that you default on, they can come and get whatever it was you used as collateral.

I was like you...I thought it is a person's own fault for getting in these situations, let him pay the price. BUt, you get to the point that you just can't survive anymore. No matter what you do the damn credit cards companies will not help you at all.

I don't like talking about our personal finances on a public forum but I will tell you this... We filed CH 13 almost 7 years ago and it was the BEST thing to ever happen to us. And I don't feel guilty because everyone got their money back so it was a win-win for everyone. Granted they didn't keep getting their late fees and over-balance fees, but hell they had already gotten enough from me and they part of the reason we got that way.

I think I would be lucky to get $3500 as it sits now.

The only thing that is mechanically wrong is the Master Cylinder. However, I it would need painted and some minor body work. The original seats are gone, and there is no carpet. No radio.

Tranny was rebuilt a few years back and has probably 2000 miles on it. The motor has 90K on it.

I can part it out fairly easily as I have room to do it for now. I would be just worried about shipping the large stuff like rear end and motor/tranny.

I haven't decided what I want to do yet. This was my late grandfather's car and I don't really want to get rid of it. It runs great and looks cool even in the state its in. I just don't want to put money into a paint job just to sell it.

If I did part it out, I would advertise here and CF first just for the simple fact that I know a lot of people on the two sites that I would want to give first dibs at.

I know it sounds bad, but I am confident I can get more for it parted out rather than trying to sell it whole. It needs paint and interior, so I doubt anyone would give me over $3000 for it. I have probably $1400 tied up in the wheels and tires alone.

I need to get rid of one of the vettes due to my business growing rapidly and needing the space. hmmmmm....what to do?

My 2 cents....

To be honest, I am the one that suggested the change considering how well the sports thing was going, but now as we have had it separated the last couple weeks, I too see that maybe it should be back in OT.

I can also see that we may have some rooms open with little participation in them and some are open for good reasons. Not sure what the solution is....

Well, that and...

1) An air foil +50HP
2) Tornado Air Turbine +10HP plus 35mpg
3) Electric Turbo $19.95 50% increase in power
4) "Type R" stickers +20HP/per sticker
5) Double wing spoiler +30HP and added downforce. Might as well add one to the front bumper too. It can't hurt and it looks cool as hell!!

So, obviously this is not a real safe situation, but if no air is getting in the system, do the brakes have the ability to "go out" all of the sudden? I need to make a run to the parts store to get parts for both vehicles now.

After getting my van towed earlier today, I had to take the '88 out to run errands. Experienced the VATS system(but thats another story) but all in all was a great ride. Drove it about 60 miles. Was fine until I got on my road and I noticed the brake pedal getting spongy and eventually the brake light came on.

I pulled into my driveway and checked under all 4 wheels, no visible fluid dripping. Checked the master cylinder...levels ok, however fluid is dark.

My first initial thought was air was getting in the system. However, the problem is that I can push the pedal to the floor, then when I do it AGAIN, its solid as a rock. Do it a couple more times, it goes to the floor again. Back and forth, rock solid, then spongy.

Still no noticeable fluid leaks. What would cause this? Sorry I don't have time to do a "search" right now or I would.

Long story short, I had to get a tow home this morning as my oil cooler line blew in my van. So as I am talking to the tow guy on the way to my house, he began to tell me that he got some Corvette wheels off a '86. He began to describe them as those awesome turbine wheels. He said that he only paid $125 for them and that he was going to put them on his S-10.

He then began to tell me that he had a friend want them and he offered to sell them to him for $500. The friend declined because he knew that he only had paid $125 for them. The tow guy told the friend that it didn't matter because they were indeed worth $500. How funny.

Its just funny how some people think that just because it came from a Corvette, it must mean that its worth a gazillion dollars.

If everyone agreed in the beginning with what Livin came up with, then I believe we need to stick with that. Next time, we just need to be very clear on how it will be handled!

I hope you guys don't see me as being a whiner like Gordon hehe...

But I thought that was what we were doing and I finished off Kyle Busch(9th race) on the last race of the season to help get a surge to keep me up front.

To me it doesn't make since to award just the 2nd half winner and overall winner when someone used up most of their good drivers during the first half. It should have been made very clear that was how it was going to be scored.

Livin this is a quote from you early in the season....

"so whatever became of the friendly wager?
how bout 3 payouts
1/2 season places 1,2,3
2nd half season places 1,23
and overall 1,2,3
for 1/2 seasons 1st=30
2nd=20
3rd=10
for whole season
1st=60
2nd=40
3rd= 20
The way I see it a 9 races max per driver this would provide a good chance for everyone to win? and at the original 20 "

Everyone agreed on it it seemed......I thought we were having three payouts.

Am I wrong here?

I think I have to start the draft before Sept 6th..so lets say August 31st will be the deadline....

Lots of time still...but would like to get as many teams as possible. We don't even have to do widgets if everyone is against it.

Fantasy Football 2008 is now open. We would like to get 20 players, anyone can play. The season starts in September. We will have a auto-draft since I am sure not all of us can get on at the same time to do a live one.

We will talk about widgets later once we see how many participates.

True that.....but I can almost guarantee that the stuff that was said(while yes tasteless considering none of us would not want it to happen to our vettes)would be said at just about any site unless the guy was there posting. Par for the course being human trying to be funny, but I totally agree with you Brian, he may have already been here and left....
