I've recently read a lot about this stuff you're supposed to pour into your warm engine via a vacuum source and it produces great big clouds of smoke while cleaning out carbon deposits etc.

Anyone used this stuff and have any recommendations good/bad or otherwise about it? Would it help with a rough idle/stutter caused by (dirty?) injectors?

Thanks all!

Perhaps you missed this recent post... There is some info. here. Perhaps we can add to that. It seems like there were LOTS of Sea Foam posts on the other forum.

Hopefully this helps.

I have used it a couple times and honestly couldn't tell much of a difference, but others swear that it is the best thing next to sliced bread.

Well, I use it about once a year and it looks like that movie "The Fog". Change oil the next day.

Yeah and whoever came up with it got really really rich off of it. I never used it, it was too expensive for me when it came out.

Actually they had to shell out $20,000,000 in a class action lawsuit for false advertising.

Of course I'm not saying SeaFoam is a sham, but the power of suggestion is usually stronger than fact for most people. I just wish the FTC would make an example out of more of these types of thieves.

Really I never heard that before...but yeah, your right, many people would buy just about anything if it had enough hype to it.

I've used it three times on three different vehicles. All three had fuel or ignition related issues. On two cars it cleared up idle and hesitation problems I had been living with, or else it was a coincidence they fixed themselves. On the third car it didn't seem to do much but I had a coil pack go bad which may have been the problem all along. I never expected a magical horsepower increase or anything like that.

I generally do not believe in any "cure in a bottle". If something isnt right with an engine, then theres almost always a mechanical reasoning to it. Dont waste your money and just fix the problem.
