And that's why it's cheaper to keep her. But only if the gremlin can be forced to show itself. I HATE intermittent problems. It's easier to fix stuff that breaks.

The Suburban is cutting off while driving and the DIC screens all shut down. Hoping it is just a ground issue. Going to clean the grounds and hope for the best. Just turned over 118k miles on it. Still should have a long life ahead of it. Two other items I saw from online help were egr valve or fuel pump. Neither I think would shut down the DIC screens. Mechanical/electrical stuff ..... It's always sumthin. I don't like the new body style of the Suburban. Don't really want to dump that much into a vehicle either. Maybe go for an upgrade to a 2020 with less than 50k on the clock. Hell, you can have issues with any vehicle at any time though. Sometimes trying to escape a problem you create a new one.

Plenty of dog days left for me. August and September are peak months for hurricanes. It's been downright oppressive outside. You go out and are immediately greeted with a wall of heat and humidity. The reptiles don't seem to mind it too much. I'm confused about out cat though. He still spends a lot of time outdoors. I don't know why when he has a nice cool bed with pillows to lie on. Waste of time trying to figure out a cat.

December 8th already?

Rough night's sleep. Woke up with acid indigestion. Luckily for me I have Rolaids lying in wait. Just had to wait for them to tame the digestional beast. Today I've already hit the library 3 times. Just thought you'd like to know.

Congrats on 48 years of wedded bliss, tee. Plaan on doing something today. I'll know more after I get out of the shower. The 90 Corvette is sitting on a flat tire. Guess I should do something about it.

Nice pics VB.

Went out for a Chinese dinner last night to celebrate FIL's birthday. After we came home I went out to feed the animals. Our potbellied pig has not been doing too well lately. She had labored breathing. I had a feeling the end was near. When I went out this morning I found Dottie's lifeless body lying outside one of her shelters. We lost her sister Daisy last year pretty much the same way. All I can say is we are glad we could provide for them and give them the best lives they could have had. Good bye Dottie.

Cut the grass at home and at the nursery. Good for another week. Another reason I like a Florida winter is you can back off and cut every two weeks. Eveything grows slower if at all during winter opening up opportunities on how to spend your time. There is definitely a price to pay for living in the tropics. Might have to rethink my landscape. Reversion to a native landscape sounds inviting.

Good morning. More of the same regular stuff for me to do today. Doing a load a day of mulch and then something else. Spread the work around a little bit.

VB, two seperate weeks is better for you. I used to take Mondays as I was off Sundays and Tuesdays. made for a lot of 3 day weekends. I liked a lot of little breaks over taking big breaks.

I can't believe how much sweat I can pour. Loaded the S-10 with mulch and now I'm dripping. Came inside to get it to stop.

Gator tastes like frogs legs and frogs legs taste like chicken.

August ... All hail Augustus Caesar.

Dog days of summer? Hell, the dogs don't even like them.

Last night the ice maker was acting up so I took a look at it trying to figure it out. Of course Sue said to me, "It isn't going to get fixed looking at it." To which I responded, "How the hell am I supposed to figure out how it works if I don't look at it?" Needless to say I found a fix by jumpering the the cycle switch and that reset it. Coming up on 39 years of marriage. You could say I'm used to it.

Hot but what else is new. Humid too.
Spread one truckload of mulch. Thinking of breaking out the blower and maybe do some pressure washing. It's that or go get some more mulch. Never bored. Forward harch.

GRIS. How much did you owe on the booth after you sold the two books?

Flushing the home water system today, sprayed the driveway for weeds. Going to suck out some algae from the Koi pond. Basically just another day of fun. I kind of figured out why I like working and gambling. It keep my mind occupied and not thinking about At night I'm tired enough and watching the idiot box keeps my mind busy. Right now we are into season one of Suits. Long way to go on that series. 8 seasons and 134 episodes. That will take over 3 months to get through I'm thinking. Earlier this year we watched Game of Thrones. Never watched them when they came out so it was/is all new to us.

Thanks Marcus but to tell you the truth I'm just numb from it. When logic plays no role, the twists and turns of dealing with people that live in an alternate reality leave you with little recourse. I'm going to live my life to the best of my ability. "Damn the torpedoes. Full speed ahead."

Cut the grass at home this morning. Sue had already cut the nursery by the time I arrived. Planning on doing some of this and some of that today and probably head to the casino later to clear our heads. (Hopefully not clear our gambling wallet). Need to hit a nice one tonight to bring it up a little. July is almost over. YEA!. 3 more months to go till my favorite time of year arrives. Nov to Apr. After a couple of years break Sonny-boy issues have resurfaced. He is going to have to move from where he is staying. Issues with him have been intermittent throughout most of my life. Trying to make the best of our lives as we can and help him where and how possible. I gave it all up to God. We've done what we can do.

Heavy rain, thunder and lightning this morning. Real gulley washer. Sue called and we went to lunch with some friends. We were talking about people that don't really retire anymore (like us). Also discussed were people that do retire and don't know what to do with themselves. That is not a problem for us. I have somethinmg to do everyday for the rest of my life. Like today ..... I might just need a nap. Ya, I need a nap. That's the ticket.

Ya, push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, squats and a nice run used to be the order of the day. Nobody needed no stinkin gym. . If you wanted to lift weights or swim you could go to the Y.

Went to see the surgeon this morning and he confirmed my suspicions. I have a hernia for sure. It's uncomfortable so I'm going to have it repaired. This year I will looks at all my health issues both big and small. See what I can do to stretch out my life a few more years or 10.

I was trying to get my yard in shape back in March so I wouldn't have to deal with it in the summer. I obviously didn't expend the effort back in Spring I should have. There is a price for procrastination. The weeds are 95% done now. More mulch to spread and pick up all the piles I have all around they yard. Need to spray some areas like the driveway and edges. I can definitely feel the heat. When I start to feel a little off I head to the house immediately. Water and A/C to rehydrate and cool off. Then I go back out till the next time. Usually 45 minutes to an hour. Sometimes longer. Of course, mid-day is the worst.

I will always take heat over freezing but prefer the middle ground. I always remember it's hot throughout most of the u.S. in summer. Some places are far worse tha SoFlo. Dry heat or not.

Working outdoors I felt a dizzy spell coming on so I went in , stripped down, took a shower and laid under the ceiling fan for 15 minutes. Feeling much better. We've been under hest warnings every day for over 3 weeks. I've been drinking lots of water but I think I'm sweating more than the fluid I was taking in. Onward Christian soldiers ........

Yesterday was my birthday. Sue asked me what I wanted to do for it and I replied "Nothing". Went to the casino and played a bit. Had lunch of only appertizers. (4) Going to a banquet tonight and dinner tomorrow night with our stepfamily and a friend at a local Italian joint. Went out this morning and saw my 90 corvette has a flat rear tire. Always something. 95/96 high today with feels like 110 for the next week. Did I ever mention ........ never mind.

Saw Ted Nugent and his band along with an opening act of the Vegas Hillbillies. They both put on a great show. I know why they call Uncle Ted the Motor City Madman. We had great seats. Front row left of center. Hit a hand pay jackpot for $1250. before the show. I covered Sue's losses for a change. We still came out ahead for the night.

Thanks for all the great healthy tips yesterday. I won't do any of it but thanks for the tips. I wonder how Matt's kettle bell/ball routine has been doing lately?

I was up at 05:45 this morn. Had to drop off the skidsteer at a job site Sue is working. The business is booming this year. Lots of home remodeleing/upgrading going on. Had a couple of customers that told Sue their budget and told her to get it done. it's beenrecord breaking hot this past week. factor in the humidity and it's downright brutal. We've still been working outdoors though. The A/C feels excellent when you walk in to take a break from the heat. Drinking lots of water as well. I'm high risk and they recommend limiting my time outdoors but everybody has to die sometime. Free sauna. If I had a heart attack and died nobody would find me till Sue came home. I've often thought if Sue were not here an I died at home nobody would find me for a long, long time. Guess the dogs and cat would have something to eat while I was waiting to be found. Then in the end it would be a house full of skeletons. Oh well. Such is life .......

Was reading tee's post yesterday about loss of strenghth. I don't understand it. I am pysically pretty active yet my muscle strenghth seems to deteriorate. A little more wobbly on my feet. Arms and back seem to be holding up OK. Makes no sense to me. I definately get in 10,000 or more steps a day.

Had a nice family breakfast with my inlaws yesterday. The table was less full than in days past.

Could always be worse GRIS. Learning the parachute landing fall has been beneficial in aiding my trips to the ground/floor. Off the ladder, hit with ground with bended knees. Trips and falls increase with age. Got some new shoes installed on The Mule yesterday. Found a set of 4 on ebay for a very good price.

Looking at the June/July AARP magazine I came across an article written about one of Sue's customers. It's about a woman that wrangles pythons for a bounty. Interesting when you read about people you actually know. We know lots of people that have made a their mark on the world. I'm always happy for their success.

Time flies. If you keep busy time just seems to disappear. Looking forward to the the vanishing days of July, August, September and October so I can get back to my favorite time of year in SoFlo.
