My Silverado started having a flaky issue with the radio screen, sometimes the thing locks up in whatever mode it is in, ie SiriusXM, Nav or whatever. When it is on Sirius, it flakes back forth to the main screen to the listing of channels and locks in my screen on the dash. If you figure out your problem Tommy, let me know what it is....sounds like my pickup has similar issues.

My current problem (pun) has to do with the ground cable from what I've found. As far as your screen issue, tee, the mechanic replaced my screen in the Suburban and that fixed it. Got a screen protector (thin piece of plastic) to cover the new screen. It's been working great ever since. I think it's the screen, tee. Do a youtube search and I believe that is what you will find. Sue's 2005 Silverado is in the shop for a new A/C evaporator located under the dash. Ka-ching. The 87 911 ahould be finished soon. Had to have the cams ground and needed new seals due to oil leak. Big ka-ching. Engine was dropped and went to the bench. Never a dull day. Never bored. I have something to do everyday for the rest of my life.

Teeb that happened on my 19 Duramax a week or so after I bought it. Called the dealer and they said yep bring it in and they replace the radio and screen in it.... It may have been just the screen that was bad.... warranty covered mine luckily.... has been fine ever since... I also left the plastic film on mine after the install..... Chevy truck forum should have some info on that...

another cool dry day outside.... deep blue sky and 74 degrees at this time.... work continues on the house as they tear off the old siding and put on the new.....

try to be nice to someone today Guru's...... or at least smile at them..... or not....

Good afternoon, cool here again too, we're not complaining. Got proofs out to people, waiting on them to reply, need a quote for one and I'm waiting on that. Also waiting on my Rover part, be glad when it's back, not a fan of his truck at all. Nothing much happening here

Good Afternoon CGs!

New fuse box came in the other day for the Corvette. Got a chance to install it yesterday and it fixed the fan problem, ran like a champ. Took it for a drive on the highway. I was doing about 60 and I went to pass a car. As soon as I gave it some gas I saw a huge plume of smoke coming from the back of the car. Great. I checked my gauges and everything was good. I was able to limp it off the highway about a mile down and then it wouldn't go any further. I assumed the rear trans line quick disconnect broke but upon inspection I found the that line to my trans cooler in front of the car popped off and blew trans fluid all over the engine bay and underside of the car. Luckily trans fluid doesn't burn until it's really hot but it sure made a smoke show. Had to call a tow and they took it up to the shop that did the work. I was on the phone with the owner after it happened. He'll get it fixed up.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Getting mad doesn't solve the problem. Fix it and move on. Car didn't burn so it's ok.

Glad car is fine but burning trans fluid is one of the worst smells I have ever encountered, second would be axle grease

Hey guys, long day. Left home at 7:45, headed over to the city to pick up GGD and head for Manhattan with Ben following. In his car. Had to stop a couple times to change GGD. She’s a remarkably good traveler. Once in Manhattan, we moved the stuff into Ben’s apartment and then went to “Aggieville” and met up with GD #2. She’s been there all week working with the sororities. After eating, I us and Ben headed to Lawrence. Ben’s girlfriend, graduated from K-State last spring and was accepted into the School of Pharmacy and will be therefor for years. Ben graduates in December and already has a job as assistant superintendent at a country club golf course, so he’ll be moving there then. The chests of drawers Leo and I built earlier this summer and the night tables Ben and I built this week were for their apartment in Lawrence, so we delivered all that today. Finally made it to #1 house about 7 pm. Tired but glad to have this day in the books.

Radio today worked flawlessly, but if that thing keeps acting up I’ll have to do something different…. Might consider an aftermarket unit.
