I went in as enlisted and retired as an O-5. I already had a degree though. Vietnam had something to do with it.

Guess I was lucky, Mine ran fine without any adjustments. The OP still hasn't answered the question as to whether or not the TB blades are opening fully.

The pros do a much better job and use a higher quality film than that stuff from Auto Wherever.

I don't think the Lt1 TPS is adjustable.

It isn't intended by GM to be adjusted.

Which isn't the same as it isn't adjustable.

'Cause, after all, it isn't intended by GM to be used on an aftermarket TB, either...

As the rest of you have said, he does need to make sure he has an actual TPS issue rather than a mat under the pedal or sticking cable or other mechanical issue before going that route.

I was referring to the L98 TPS, which is adjustable.

I guess you could "adjust" the LT1 with a big enough hammer.

The after market TB, however, was meant to be used with the GM TPS, and it fit quite well. The minor adjustment of the cable was due to slight differences in the linkage.

I don't think the Lt1 TPS is adjustable. I believe the PCM learns what is WOT. Could be wrong though.

From 96 FSM.

"If the TPS is replaced, the Electronic Brake Traction Control Module (EBTCM) must learn the TP sensor idle position voltage with the new component installed."

AT WOT, the output voltage should be above 4 volts.

There is an adjuster in the throttle cable that could need attention if the TB is not opening all the way. I had to adjust mine when I put on a 52 MM TB.

If you switch to the electric pump you can run a cheaper double row timing set. I am still on the fence as to whether or not I will change when I make my radiator and cam swap.

Good Luck!!

Fortunately, I am past the job stage.

Spend all my time watching porn and eating Cheetos.

Doc, why is my Johnson orange?

Tuesday in Washington DC, around 70 degrees now. Just took a walk at lunch. What a nice day in January. Shame I'm not home installing my heads and intake.

Corvette Club meeting tonight, the weather is nice, so the guys will have thier Vettes at the meeting. I look forward to our meetings. I get to go drink beers with the guys and discuss our next party, cruise, race or whatever.

See ya all around.

Oh, Frank (MrMojo) smacked my fingers for starting the thread on CF about people posting in the wrong forums. He locked it. I applogized. People got the point though. Sorry again Frank if you read this.

Doesn't look Mr Mojo was too happy that day. Maybe he needs a raise.

I got flamed on CFOT for a couple of threads I started. The retards came out of the woodwork.

I will be honest, I don't go over there very often anymore.

I lurk from time to time... late last week, someone was asking about cats, and the 3rd post was about "you don't need them," and not a single person challenged that.

They are slipping into a pit of intellectual mallaise... they get what they pay for... You ban the technically knowledgeable, then you get morons expressing opinion based upon less then good information. I feel sorry for the newest members, searching for insight, not hyperbole.

All of the post whores came here!

:tongue7:

P.S that was a joke!

So far, $289 for the Viper 4.10 ring and pinion set at mopartsracing.com is the best deal I have found.

So where do I buy the parts?

I am not necessarily wanting to race. Just want to snap my head back a bit. I have always been a speed junkie. 23 years of flying fighters.

I already have the Hot Cam and Exotic Muscle Headers to install.

I think I speak for most if not all here when I say I envy the career you retired from. Plus you have my undying gratitude for your service to our country. The LT4 is an awesome car to begin with and I know I'm stating the obvious. With the headers, cam and then tuning, it's going to really rock and roll. Add the gears into the equation and I think it would satisfy the adrenaline jones in most of us. But given your background, you may still require more power after all of this. If so, feel free to let me know. I'd be more than glad to help!

Thanks for the kind words! I do miss the military flying! I have been stockpiling parts for one big mod session.

Wow, I bet you have a slew of stories you could tell.

Good luck with your dreams!! Aviation is long hours of boredom punctuated by moments of stark terror. I wouldn't have done it any differently.

Oh puleeeze! No one talks that badly in print! Especially if he has a computer connected to the net. He yanked people's member on CF and is continuing it here with the same topic. He insults me as a southerner. Bogus, kick his butt off.

EDIT!! I am beginning to believe that he is for real!
