Good work there!

Reminds me of an old joke about the word dictate:

In school, the teacher asks Stymie to use dictate in a sentence. And Stymie replies:

Hey Darla, how my ..... last night?

(Hope that's not over the line here).

I seen that video before Brad but I still love it.

It's amazing how calm the guy talks etc. but you would have to be at that job. No High strung guys there for sure. That video is well put together IMO with the music and all.

I got a kick out of the three things he's afraid of too.

That video from Matthew was cool too. I have to get up now and try to get the pucker out of my computer chair, Thank-you very much!!

the airbag isn't that sensative. Remove the fuse.

I would also get into the DIC and remove the bulb for the SIR warning light.

Finally, be aware that the steering column on an airbag equipped car is much different than a non-airbag column. Mostly, they don't collapse the same way, in fact, they are designed to support the airbag and the occupant.

So in a wreck, the aftermarket wheel could become a deadly thing.

Just so you know.

Also, your insurance company may be giving you a bit of a break because of your airbag (though, as my insurance agent said, if the airbag goes off, they're already writing checks). So they may not be happy with you if you remove it.

Yup...
I'd be checking with your insurance company about deleting the air bag.

Not a good thing in thier eyes I'm sure.

I can't imagine why they wouldn't work, but then again what do I know.

I have the same system as Dale.

I love the look of the polished mufflers.

Good luck with your decision.

Really Good Brad!!!!

I laughed out loud more than once. Bravo!!!

Both of my wife's parents had colon cancer and are doing fine now but that really raises the chances of my wife getting it.
She is due for another colonoscopy very soon!!

I should have her read this.

Sorry about your luck with FIVEO. I bought my pink tops there too and don't remember anything being amiss when they arrived.

They have been in the Vette now for 2 years with no problems but now I'll be crossing my fingers.

BTW....I'm throwing away the card with FIVEO's number on it now.

Sounds like Jon at FIC really treated you well. Cudo's to him and his company.

I'm also going to start looking at Casey's friend's site too for parts when needed.

Saw a guy do the nicest thing at a Vette show yesterday

Yesterday our local Vette club (I'm not a member)had thier annual Vette show.

I haven't had my car in a show since '02 so just for $hits and giggles I entered my car.

I parked around some really nice guys. I never know what to expect as some people can be pretty snobish in our area. The guy 2 cars down from me had a beautiful '57 that he had totally restored. Throughout the day his car got a lot of attention (and first place in his class).

Late in the afternoon a guy and his son I'd say 13 walked to the car and were admiring it. The Dad had a camera and was going to take a picture of the car. Just as he was going to take the picture the owner of the car asked the young guy if he would like to sit in it and have his Dad take the picture.

Well you could have lit a small city with the smile on that kids face. It was awesome to witness.

After they left I said to the guy that that was an incredibly nice thing to do.

He said to me, and it's so true, You have to keep the young people interested in the hobby to keep it alive. I'd bet that kid will always remember sitting it that classic old vette.

After that we all started talking about our first experience with a vette. Just made my day.

BTW..He was selling the '57 for $80K CDN. I have no idea but he said that was a steal. He should have been asking $90K.

Hey Guru's just coming off a 4 day weekend then this Sunday leave for 'Vegas. I'm ready to get away.

My in-laws came for a visit this weekend (they live 3 hours away)and things went pretty good. They are European (Slovanian) so my FIL is really set in his ways and can be quite demanding but things went well. Thank God.

Have an appointment at the Doc this morning to get some sleeping pills. For whatever reason I juts can't sleep anymore. Go to bed and 2 hours later I'm still staring at the clock. Enough of that.

Leave this afternoon for Kentucky and if I'm lucky that will be it for the week.

Have a great day

Ya' think? I'd guess that's the airline that's owned by Connie Kalitta, the retired drag racer. He was also married to Shirley Muldowney at one time, another retired dragster driver. It's a miracle no one was seriously hurt. I think they just haul cargo but I'm not entirely sure.

Yup just a cargo carrier......

I think they are based out of nearby Willow Run airport just west of Detroit.

Have you ever seen a World of Outlaws or other good sprint car show on dirt? (TV is good but doesn't do it justice) That shit is balls to the wall and will likely make you a fan of (at least) all-American style open wheel racing in it's purest essence. Bring goggles and lots of beer. Eating dust and dodging dirt clods is thirsty work!

actually I have!!! That IS pretty exciting stuff!!

There goes the theory of me not liking open wheel stuff. Duh

open wheels? Rice burners? Say what?

The IRL engine may be a Honda design, but it's a 3.5 litre V8, spinning to about 10k RPM, made right here in SoCal. Personally, I wish they would open them up a bit, they sound a bit restricted.

Oh, and these cars do run open headers. The IRL uses Ethanol.

F1 is the same deal... 2.4 litre V8, spinning to 19k RPM, made mostly in Europe, regardless of name on the car. England is the home to most all European motorsports, and that is where the various engines are made. Except Toyota (Germany) and Ferrari (Italy). F1 cars run on some form of pump gas.

I don't see rice being burned anywhere.

I am more of a Champ Car fan and was never in love with Tony George and his IRL dream. Apparently, I am stuck with IRL. I am a huge ALMS fan and an equally huge F1 fan. I will watch Grand Am.

I love the precision of these forms of racing, where one mistake = epic disaster.

I guess what I am saying is that "rice burner" is not the right term... and I have never liked it much, either.

Damn I really stirred up the indians..........

First of all thanx for the enlightenment on the engines sizes and RPM's. Had no idea about any of that.

Whether "rice burner" is the right term or not that "open wheel" racing does not interest me.

I can appreciate the speeds they run, the skill it takes to operate at those speeds and everything else it takes to run a successful team on that circut it just doesn't "turn my crank".

Look, I'm a big Nascar fan too. But the 600 is almost always one boring-assed race, as are all too many other races at Charlotte as well.

Congrats to Dixon on his first Indy win. Those guys did a good job and really had them covered.

I'm just not into the open wheel stuff I guess. Guess I like the sound of open headers as opposed to the rice burners!!

I haven't seen the original thread Tommy.

Sorry to hear of your loss. He was way too young.

His final words were so nice though. Seemed to be very concerned about those he left behind. Sign of a good man.

I'll be thinking of you and your family at this time.

Take care Tommy and thanks for sharing this with us.

AHHHH, busy, busy, busy. Trying to get things done. I dropped the price of my vette down to $7,000 and I still dont have a buyer. Damn gas prices scareing away my market!

I had a buyer for mine for 7K but I am holding out for $8500.
I don't know maybe I should have taken it. 7K was Better than the $4500 Les Stanford in Detroit offered me though when I was looking at an '02 ZO6 with 4200 miles.

Not much else for me though. Works seems to be pretty busy. delivered Atlanta Monday and off to Wisconsin this afternoon.

Have a great day Guru's
