just as an off chance, the starters on the 87's are fairly easy to reach, try giving the starter a good solid rap with a hammer, the reason being the brush's may not be making contact ( but would think you would still hear the bendex engage ) if it then starts, new starter time ( they are cheap and common. The blow of the hammer will cause the brush's to set.

I'm looking at putting new shocks on my car. The alignment guy I talked to, seemed to know his stuff and said shock replacement won't affect the alignment. But, mine are of an unknown age, and seem to be pretty old. The alignment guy was in line with you guys here... hard to tell when C4 shocks are bad. First thing he said was: "The old bounce test doesn't work on those cars, they're too stiff." I had to laugh since that was a source of a few jokes here.
Anyway, I was all set to go with KYB's and then saw this:

AC Delco shocks. Anyone ever use them? How do they compare?
Thanks

as an earlier poster pointed out no real price differance, but i did go with the AC Delco's ( speed of delivery ) old Bilsteins where shot, have had no problems with them, and ride nice.

i had an unfair advantage,
1. my MAF did the same thng.
2. I had a spare MAF to test with
3. I Read his other posts on CF about this which was a bit more lengthy, even though it was intersperced with the usual moronic no help replys

much as im sure you dont want to hear this, it sure does sound like the MAF is shot.
you should be able to find one on ebay for a reasonable price, i bought one as a spare for 75.00 a few years ago.

i feel for ya guy, when i first got mine both front shocks needed replaceing, no matter what i tried, i could not get the P/S top nut free, ended up having to take it to a shop, and even with their impact guns, they ended up having to cut it off.

Time to break out the ol dremel

As to more powerfull yes, MSD makes a very nice one 140amp, 12.9 is a tad low but at idle like Bogus said but more reliable reading at 1000 rpm.

On our cars the alternators ( CS series ) Require the battry to be present to complete the circuit ( provides a load to the alt), disconnecting the battery while running and you stand a very good chance of burning out the alternator.

Lights: look into the sylvania Silver Stars, a much whiter light, then add those to the clear lens units avail from ecklers, and you will have a very nice light package indeed.
