Andy, was the coolant changed as required?

Note: I ordered the $8.00 part from RockAuto. At 84, I'm not concerned with
longevity.

The short answer is NO and it holding to almost 215k miles is amazing. Parts wear out due to both time and use. I have seen many low mile cars that without regular use that part will age equally as well. Then fail. Coolant quality certainly may have been a factor as well. GC

Unless the bulb was pulled from the DIC. That's a common fix and prob the bands are long gone from the PO

Just pull em all four 89-91 will not show a light. Only one 92 I am personally aware of that also did not display a light.

IMHO destined to fail just like those handy pellets in the headlight mother however hard to complain about a 26 yo vehicle. Things do wear out with time and general wear. Well done Chuck

What no lose change? I found $50 bill stuffed under there from PO when I pulled my drivers seat.

I bet the transmission is roached on the pulled unit. It never seems to be the motor.

I've never had one that fully apart Chuck. I was wondering how you did that without dropping the steering wheel

Got it Andy; Daryll.

I am hoping that IF it was not corrected when intermittent open was found in Tranny Shifter Indicator Light Harness, during CCM Field inspection, that it IS now.

Won't re-check, until I/C is serviced by Bryan @ batee.com , since Cig Lighter Circuit might be down-current of I/C.

Cig Lighter Circuit is Hot At All Times tho'... ?

2 emails sent there Daryll.................

Yes cig lighter is hot ALL the time. That is correct

Another thought is the digital Automatic Transmission controller might be the volt vampire as well in order to maintain the transmission settings

According to Marc H that oil in the plenum is fairly normal I have a catch can on my 91 Chuck mounted right where the air pump used to be. It catches quite a bit of oil between changes.

I think 12.6 V is normal dry battery voltage on the rack. So in other words not running that's normal voltage. While running it will peak up a bit as its being maintained by the alternator. Where is the voltage on the band on the IP while running Chuck ? If it's middle band to just under 3/4 band thats normal. It will read under a half band with the key in the run position until you start. If that is what you see that is what I see on my 91 which is my DD

Also the C4 is a battery Whore. Strange electrical things will occur if it's under volted. I've seen it before on my L98 90 and my 91 ZR-1. Also the car has voltage demands from the radio clock and the interior lights if the doors and/or hatch is open before it times out as off. Also voltage draw can occur if the visor lights are accidentally left on.

Just pick up the replacement blower mine was so bad in my 91 you could change the pitch of the motor by knocking on the outside of the housing. Figure it after more than 20 years of faithful service the motor will just wear out. This is an easy install. Just relax the inner fender to allow the unit to be pulled out of the housing with the squirrel cage and replace. Be mindful of the rubber blower housing drain vent underneath the unit and its orientation as it allows moisture to leaving the housing to fall to the pavement. Make sure you vacuum out the blower housing while you are there it will probably have dirt, leaves and debries in there so take the time to clean it out in there.

I have a bonus trick for you while you are there to make your air colder. Take a flashlight and look at the heater core while you are in there. If you notice a gap between the heater core and the wall of the housing place foam material like that grey egg crate material you see used to protect computer hardship drives back in the day into that gap. It won't allow outside air to bypass the heater core and the result is a few degrees cooler. Of AC air. Just search my name on the big forum under goldcylon as I have pics and details in there. This is a one beer fix. GC

Make sure you get all the air out of system. That might be why the temp swung up so high. GC
