Does anyone have or has anyone had the Doug Rippie coilover spring kit on their cars? I just picked up some 19 inch wheels (big I know, but I got a good deal). My concern is that the car will sit too high and look "donked out". Any southern folks out there will know what I mean. Anyway, I've been looking at coilover kits and this seems to be a decent kit without a astronomical price tag, at around 950 bucks. Anyone have anything for or against this kit?

Doug is very............very well known in the racing community. Been doing Corvettes forever.
Since your main goal is chassis height (and not set up for hard track driving) a less expensive kit like this should work well for you. |

If you're not sure, you can just try lowering the rear first. You can test it on the stock bolts, but they make a lowering kit through any of the vendors that is pretty inexpensive. That might be an avenue to check out.

What is the tire diameter?
If you keep the tire diameter by using a lower profile tire, then you're not going to lower the car at all. |

I believe I'm still using a 35 in the rear and 40 in the front for profile on the tires. I live in new England and our roads suck. I was originally going to just try lowering the back with the bolts but I heard the handling is sacrificed as it takes the rake out of the car. 950 isn't bad, plus it'll be a coilover setup like I wanted in the first place. I don't race so I dont need anything too crazy. Just enough to have fun on the onramps with haha
