Very nice, very nice. Do you mind posting a couple of more pics? Like a close up of the throttle body cover and the mods you made to get the valve covers to fit?

Hey Fred,
Good to see a neighbor on the site! We will compare weatherstripping notes at the next club meeting we both make. It is a tough job but well worth the time and effort.

Wrenchman, I painted the A/C compressor, alternator, air filter housing, and coolant surge tank Sebring Silver, the color of the car. Had to have the freon removed at an A/C company where they collect it in a tank, then removed the parts to paint them. Charged the A/C back up after install and it works great!

Notice that Willcox Corvette is spelled with two l's. That may be why you had trouble searching them before. I bought my weatherstripping kit from them and am very pleased with the fit, finish, quality, and price of their product as well as their service.

I feel your pain. Redid my weatherstrip last year as my "big project". Verrry time consuming. Requires lots of patience. I did do some homework before I started which made the project go much smoother. I knew what to expect and got some tips/tricks and things not to do. Some info came from this very site in its old form. Some came from other forums and sources. I used a kit from Willcox Corvette that many recommended, $380. The quality, fit and finish was really good. Car is much tighter and seals up well. No drips while driving in rain. Have to be gentle while washing around door glass but that is typical even with factory stripping. I treat with dielectric silicone grease every 3-4 months. Keeps the squeaks to a minimum, helps seal the car and protects the stripping from cracking/deteriorating. Overall very pleased with how it turned out. See slideshow.

Thanks. Did the same sort of stuff...coolant leak was a failed gasket where the water pump mounts to the block on the drivers side. Replaced the original opti because it had 118K miles on it. Replaced intake & valve cover gaskets to address oil leaks. Polished the fins on the intake and painted it while it was out. Checked valve lash. New wires & plugs, replaced vacuum and coolant lines as needed. Had the alternator, a/c compressor, air filter housing, computer, and surge tank painted Sebring Silver. Did some general degreasing and cleanup. BTW...wouldn't recommend painting the computer, mine crapped out and I had to buy another one. Don't know why, maybe coincidence....?

OK, my computer savvy (or lack thereof) is showing here. I am trying to post a pic as an attachement. When I click preview, I get the message:
"Could not login to FTP Server. The Username 'c4guru20' or the Password is wrong. Please check your FTP-Settings". What am I doing wrong?

1996CE LT1. Want to replace my plugs and wires as a preventive maintenance project. I want to go to red wires (for looks) and want a good durable wire. Research so far indicates this is no small task so I only want to do it once! Any advice on wire/plug brand would be appreciated. Also, the car is a daily driver with 115+K miles on it. Should I change the optispark cap & rotor at the same time? Again, research shows this is no easy project either. None of these items have ever been replaced. Thoughts? Thanks.
