i recently bought a 1988 corvette. the gas pedal in the corvette is really weird sometimes. it is really hard to push then all of a sudden it just gives out of no where and i rev it up to like 3000 rpm. ive been stuck at a stop cause i cant just ease the pedal in. i push it and it dosent move push it harder it dosent move push it even harder and then it gives and i basically floor it. anyone no why this is? sometimes it dosent do it. mainly when the car is cold.

Try to pull the cable by hand at the throttle body. May be the throttle body mechanics are the culprit. If it slides hard, take off the cable and spray down some silicone oil.

Yup, sounds like a sticky cable. Mine does the opposite, I am driving along and let my foot off the petal and I keep going fast, I have to floor it to bring it back down. I gotta get some lube and get'r'done.

Brian, that is something you want to get fixed. Think of what might happen if it sticks the other way?
