Does the drivers seat's side bollsters come off the seat. I would like to get the leather redone where it wears getting in and out? Can I get the same smoke gray leather from some vendor? They are sport seats in my 90. Thanks

If the bolsters are like the ones on any other seat I've taken apart or like my 95 sport seats, you'll have to take the leather off. It is usually held on by snap rings. Once you get the leather off, you'll be confronted by the foam on the inside. It can be one piece or more commonly the foam is held over the side bolsters by the leather. You should be able to remove it.

I thoght Willcox sells the leather as do most of the other vendors.

Another alternative is to buy some leather on ebay, preferably in the color of your seat and give it to your upholsterer to fix the side bolster on your backrest or seat bottom.

In the alternative, buy the leather or get some from a Tandy leather store, have the upholsterer insert it and then have him color it, or better, take a piece of the colored leather from the bottom of your seat, small piece, send it to George at leatherique.com to match the color and then color your patched piece yourself.

I haven't worked on seats from your year, but on ones I have, the entire top half of the seat leather/foam is one piece. You can push the side bolsters inward to unsnap them from the seat frame.
