I decided to to rewire the vette this week got the painless injector harness. When I removed the ECM I noticed it had been previously opened most likely by the last butcher who owned her. The chip inside is totally foreign to me. It is a Klaric 400-310 as best as i can figure the part number is 88y-a4-307 other numbers on it are level III F6DB M-W. I have tried searching for info on it but am coming up at a loss. If any of you Gurus out there have any info on this chip such as timing requirements and special sensor requirements I would be greatly appreciative of the assist. Keep on keepen on. Jimmy

The only guess I can give you is that maybe it is a TPIS custom chip based upon mild modifications such as exhaust and maybe intake.

I only say that because of the Level III.... they used to market their TPI chips as Level 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6...... Level 5 was for a 350 with heads, intake and cam modifications, level 6 was for the same, but with added cubic inches. Level 3 was basically stock with some basic bolt-on type modifications where they messed with fans and maybe advance..... but not sure, just guessing.

I'd give them a call and ask if its theirs..... looks like its for an 88 with an A4... that we know. I am betting the 307 is March of 97 or maybe July of 03....

edit: I am looking at my TPIS Level 6 chip and it doesn't show any of that.... so I dunno.

good luck !

307 is probably a 3.07 rear axle, not that it makes a big difference for tuning, though.

I have no idea who burned that, but you can open it and see what has been done when comparing to a stock bin file.
I can't imagine any "extra sensors" or inputs of that nature. The only things I would suspect you might see are things like AIR, VATS delete (possibly egr if removed etc.), increased timing, fan temps. and depending on the motor mods increased idle (both hot and cold) etc. As to timing , typically all tuneres will use the stock 6* reference timing @idle hot(w/est disconnected), all advance through the rpm v.s. load range is done in the main timing table in the tune/chip.
