Is Dr Don still one of the best sources for fixing my Corvette's head unit? I'd like to get it upgraded to MP3 capability. Right now, it works fine in all respects, except it won't eject CDs. But plays nicely, both radio, the CD in it and the Cassette player works too.

Problems with the head unit, huh? Having to listen to the same cd over and over again would get old to me real fast. Seems to me your on the right course.

MP3 upgrade ain't happening. You see, to play MP3 requires the ability to present a file folder structure. Much like a computer OS.

It just isn't possible.

Dr. Dons CAN allow it to read burned CDs (CD-Rs), tho.

He could probably add an auxiliary input to it.

These places do exactly that:

Well, according to Dr Don's technical support, they can add an IPOD MP3 playing capability but have to sacrifice the Cassette to do so.

Dr Don said:
"The IPOD Connection would be a 3Ft wire harness with a small control box. Control Box can be placed in console/arm rest."

This is what they told me. Cost is $100 for just that feature.

ah, I see... it's not internal MP3 - IE, a CD with MP3s on it, but an external input.

That sounds like a good trick. I mean, who the hell uses cassettes? I haven't played one in 5 years.
