I don't have a Datamaster. I do have a code reader that reads OBD 1 & 2. Might try to see what it can do for me. I also have the FSM, (red books one and two)....
I'll check for debris but it should still get colder than it does. My old truck will freeze me out at it's lowest settings. No glass top, I have a coupe. With the MSD Opti and electric waterpump, the car runs great. Just wish that A/C had more "ump".... I live near Cape Canaveral in Florida and it's hot and humid here. Need A/C to survive the summers. I have a 1994 LT1 and live in HOT Florida. My issue is my old 1994 Ford Ranger with 197K miles has a better A/C system than my 1994 Corvette that has 63K miles. My Ford Ranger is icy cold but my Corvette A/C barely functions. I checked the freon and it's full. The compressor kicks in as I can hear it and feel it when I drive but the air coming out of the vent is not cold, it's barely cool.
What should I do first to address this? Any advice is appreciated... Billy

I've replaced 4 of these now. One was a OEM part and it lasted for 8K or so and it must have gotten wet or something but it did fail and we had to replace it again. In my own car, I replaced the original part at 63K. Installed a MSD and have been overjoyed with the performance of the part. I believe it will last a long time as it's very very well made and upgraded with the vented setup.
As for me, I highly recommend the MSD. Billy

Well, it finally happened. My antenna would go up only half way and that was ok as reception was ok at half way up, but then it started going up 1/4 way and now it doesn't go up at all.
I probably need to replace it. Dread the job though. Has anyone done this? I don't see how to get to the thing. Billy

I just bought a C4 Crossbar on eBay for $11. It looks brand new. The one I bought sells new for $395.
I've gotten so many good deals from eBay. Billy

I found one that came off a 1995 C4. I have a 1994. Would it fit?

Has anyone changed out the plug wires on the driver's side without removing any parts? Can it be done?

I'm thinking about buying a Actron 9190. Do you have any intel on this hand held scan tool? It will read my OBD1 1994 Corvette and my newer vehicles as well.

I'm looking to buy a OBD code reader for my 1999 NISSAN, 2002 FORD Truck and my 1994 Corvette. I know about reading the codes on my vette and have done that many times but would like the convenience of a device I can attach to the port. My NISSAN and FORD have no digital dash so I need something with a display.
My question is do I need a CAN capable reader? The OBD readers I see are cheaper without that logic. Any advice is appreciated.... Billy

If you're just really hooked on CDs, another option is to install a six disk CD player. I installed one in a previous C4 behind the passenger seat. The particular model I had was the RF modulator type that "broadcast" to an unused FM frequency. This particular model spliced into the antenna cable and the fidelity was excellent (unlike some of the mp3 RF modulators that do not have a hard wire connection to the antenna line). All the wires you need to access are in the cargo bin behind the passenger seat and can be reached by existing cutouts already there. All you have to do is pull back the carpet a bit and pass the wires through. As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm using an Ipod now but I still have the CD player and if you're interested, you can have it for a little more than a song... I've taken some advice from the forum and have installed the cassette feeder with IPOD lead for playback. It works great and I think I'll be happy living with this setup. Lots of money saved..... MP3 upgrade ain't happening. You see, to play MP3 requires the ability to present a file folder structure. Much like a computer OS. Well, according to Dr Don's technical support, they can add an IPOD MP3 playing capability but have to sacrifice the Cassette to do so. Dr Don said: "The IPOD Connection would be a 3Ft wire harness with a small control box. Control Box can be placed in console/arm rest." This is what they told me. Cost is $100 for just that feature. I'm getting close to sending my BOSE head unit to Dr Don for a modification. I want the CDR capability but man! $200 to play CDRs sounds extreme. Also, for another $100, they will disable the Cassette and install a jack for input of external devices such as MP3 players/IPODs.
My question is has anyone had this MP3 mod done to their Cassette player? I'd like to find out about it. I hate to lose the Cassette capability even though I almost never use that part of the radio. Feedback appreciated..... Billy

Is Dr Don still one of the best sources for fixing my Corvette's head unit? I'd like to get it upgraded to MP3 capability. Right now, it works fine in all respects, except it won't eject CDs. But plays nicely, both radio, the CD in it and the Cassette player works too.

Ask "Strick" about the electric waterpump, or anyone that has one. They are believers, as am I. Never any chance of coolant getting on my brand new MSD opti. And it cools better. It's a no brainer to me....
But you think what you want. Billy

I just replaced my WP with a Meziere HD Electric WP and what a nice piece of equipment this is. My opinion is GM should have used an electric WP instead of the mechanical one.
I'd like to flush out my system because the water looks a little grungy to me. Was wondering if I could pull the two lines off the container near the window on the passenger's side. The electric pump generates a nice flow on the top line. I was thinking of having that line drain the system down while the other line pulls in good coolant? Any advice? Thanks..... Billy

Painless Relay setup during Electric Water Pump install |

Installing my Painless Relay, I chose to not install the circuit breaker it comes with since it has a 30amp fuse inline already. I saw the thing as a potential show stopper should it trip, another failure point in my electric water pump.
Has anyone else that used the painless relay for their electric water pump installation installed this device (circuit breaker) or left it out? Billy
