Yep, the tomatoes are spanish holiganism, oranges mainly in italy, but also spread to a limited extent to spain... for other reasons I beleive.

Oranges Italy:-

You probably know about the Moors & Christians and Burning of the Fallas. Some of the Spanish traditions are really bad and I hate it... esp when it comes to animals!

I wonder what they will be throwing if Spain manages to beat Germany today. It should be a good game.

95v, Spain is the team I support, although I have connections/family in the UK, Spain and Germany which sometimes creates a few friendly arguments.

I'm a bit worried that we won't beat Germany tonight, but if we do the whole Spanish population will go absolutely crazy.

Congrats! It was a heck of a good game. Spain definitley played the better game and deserved to win. Somehow I doubt they can repeat against the Dutch though.

Thanks 96vette. Wasn't a bad game, but the Spanish were being lazy... trying to 'walk' the ball to the box. The Dutch have certainly been consistent and steady in there games... it's a tough call for the final.

Bit of a dissapointing competition in general though...!

I thought the Spanish game plan was ball control to keep the German's fast break offense under control. If that was the case they did a very good job. Just glad it didn't come down to PKs at the end.

I think you’re right in that is was a game plan imposed by the team manager, but it crippled their normal style/flair and most of the time (1st half especially) resulted in players arriving in the opposing box/wings with no strikers to pass to. Not the way they’re used to playing.

Lot’s of the teams appeared to play too defensively, which (imo) didn’t make for a good competition, purely because it wasn’t they’re regular play.
