Right now I have AFR 8019 springs on my 195 AFR non competition heads. I have the 8117 springs sitting here but I'm still wondering if it's even worth while to do. Steve40th said he had this issue a while back and changing springs to a lower rate helped with overall feel on the engine. But that was his engine and I'm sure mine is different than his was. I'm not doubting Steve I would just like to hear some other opinions on whether it is even worth while to do.
I'm still having split blms of 20% on average higher on bank 2 than bank 1. I've checked everything I can find to check and cannot seem to help them any. Could these springs be contributing to this spilt blm issue? I'm running a similar spring to your current, without any ill effects. Before these I was running 918 beehives and they didn't work well with my camshaft (224/230 605/622).
I don't see how your current springs could effect your blms? |

One thing that bothers me about these big ass springs is my lifter preload doesn't seem to want to hold. I set it at 1/2 turn a couple of times now and after I run the car a while those rockers are sounding like a sewing machine just clicking away. Maybe that is normal I don't really know. There's a couple of them that are noticeably louder than the rest.

You had the good ones like me, very early before they were made in a foreign country, at least COMP Cams. I will buy from PAC racing if I need new ones. |

Could it be to stiff a spring for the lower lift cam?
