Hey guys, A friend of mine just bought a 2010 camaro ss and she is looking to add some upgrades. She is thinking cold air intake, exhaust, possibly headers and a tune. She wants to have it done at a shop but she really wants a reputable shop, unfortunately I don't have any that I would recommend> anyone have any place that impressed them. She lives on the south side of Chicago, but if she found a good shop I don't think she would be apposed to traveling. Any suggestions are always appreciated.

Why not leave it alone vs. running the risk of ruining the warrantee?

That is my #1 concern with a brand new car.

To be honest, a tune won't help much on modern ODBII cars. Unless you do a lot to the engine, of course.

There are 2-3 shops recommended in our area that do that kind of work, I think they are Speed Inc, FLP, and another one. I'll get more info for you later.

I'm with Andy here. Why void the warranty? Chevy does offer some upgrades that would be covered under the warranty with a dealer install I believe. Check it out and see what they recommend. You can always mod the car later. Break it in for awhile then decide. Maybe a nice supercharger would be just what she needs.

First, thanks for the response. Second young lady, 4 kids, too much money and needs an escape. That being said, she plans to upgrade to a supercharger after the warranty. She was informed by the dealer that she could do headers, exhaust and cold air without voiding the warranty. I would disagree except that she has a good working relationship with the dealer. Too be honest I dont think she was really into cars until she saw my vette. I think she bought the new camaro because her husband doesnt like older vehicles. When I spoke with him he told me that its her car to do what she wants with. I say dont worry about the warranty and have at it. Her goal is 500hp, but I told her short of rebuilding the motor or going with a supercharger it isnt going to happen without voiding the warranty
