Hey guys,

My father is working on a 87 C4 Auto... and I just bought a 79 C3 Auto. Both cars came up for sale around the same time CHEAP, these things just happen. I know these threads aren't any fun without pictures but I haven't even had time to post this thread so bear with me.

I convinced him to do the air pump delete which I had done on my 89 L98. I don't remember any Ill effects, I just want to be sure once more before I pull all of it off???? I am going to gut the pump and reinstall it and remove the rest of the hoses.

Back in the day I installed a set of really low budget headers, I know a few forum members had them... they weren't more than $150, but they worked like a charm and fitment was excellent... j/w if anyone is still using those or if anyone remembers the name?

There should be no issues from removing the air pump. Go for it!

I don't know about the headers...

Remember to plug the air tube from the AIR assembly that goes to the cat. I crimped the end on the cat when I removed mine.

I took it off my 90 with no problems. I did go with an air pump delete. There is a ton of stuff that comes off.
