1996 LT-4, 131000 miles on her. The brakes were in dire need to be fixed. During the last year, I started to pickup parts for the rebuild. SS brake lines, C-5 calipers, new rotors, rear brakes.
My experience has only been putting new pads on my Avalanche. So last week, I got the vette up on jack stands and removed the original equipment. Installed all the componets, bled the brakes and took it for a test drive. The stopping power was amazing. The new C-5 rotors and calipers worked great. Yesterday, I rebuilt the rear brakes since the RR brake was scraping loudly. The rears were a little tricky with the parking brakes. I rebuilt the calipers, new SS lines, pads, seals and bolts.
I read all I could about doing the rebuild and brake lines from this forum and it made it easy to do a complete brake up grade.
Things I learned. First, I had to reuse the banjo bolts, the ones sent with the SS lines were cheesey. Bleeding brakes is a snap and get a big breaker bar to remove bolts.
The rear brake pads lasted 131000. They were original.

Thanks!!

I love my C5 brake upgrade. You might want to consider a DRM bias spring to help with nose dive you may experience.

Any pics of your big project???
