I just got a nice radio from my Father-in-law and still need to research where to take the test.I zipped through the training material(they give you the answers!) last week while stuck in the hospital. The FCC eliminated the morse code requirement a few years back, so it seems really easy to get an Amature Radio station licensed and on the air......From what I,ve read, the airwaves are a little more professional, not the cursing, cigarette sucking CBers we have been used to hearing at one time or another in the past.... just wondered if anyone else has ever been involved with the hobby.

 I'd have thought Tommy, if anyone, just because of all of the hurricaine power/communications outtages in So. Fla. and possibly you from some Military experience? |

No military experience for me. I know a couple guys who have a license but aren't very active in it. I think it's neat.

It is easy to get licensed & on the air. Very handy in hurricane season and on road trips. Spring & summer is when
the clubs have swap meets & test sessions. Hunt down a club near you, they will help you test & get you past the mic fright of your first contact. Benny N5SZN |
