a year ago the car started running rough. It felt like a carb loading up ( I know it's FI just description) codes read the oxy sensor on driver exhaust was reading lean causing the computer to up the fuel. Replaced it, everything was good. 2 weeks ago it started again. Took to to the shop, oxy sensor is reading the same thing?
I have put about 3k miles on it since last year. I thought about pulling the wire on the sensor and seeing what would happen. If the sensor is bad again, any idea why this would be happening again?

What brand of sensor? Bosch isn't very popular here.

Getting the lean code again?
I just went thru this, got both the lean codes, right hand and complete system lean.

O2's fixed mine.

The other thing to do is check the fuel pressure, preferably while you're driving.
And the wiring connections.
Ohm the injector solenoids (BTW how many miles on the injectors?).

Not sure of the brand I will check. Everything else seems to check out ok. On the injectors I assume 70k which is on the car. I have 30lb injectors to install. Less than 1k miles. I am going to install them and see what is going on. I will check the others and report back.

do you have a reason to install 30lb injectors? The stock computer will barf on them without a tune... and there is no amount of tune that will help on stock motor!

NGK is good... Bosch is junk.

I had the computer reset to accept them because I want to install nitrous. I also had to have it reset because I went from 259 gears to 373. It ran great for several weeks after getting it back from the folks that did the work. I don't know if they are a sponsor so I won't name them.

Our sponsors are all posted on the left margins... nothing hidden here, and, if you have an issue with a vendor, you are allowed to voice it.

We are not CF here... we don't slap people down for sharing concerns.

I'm sorry, I think you misunderstood me. I am extremely happy with the pcm reset. I have been on other forums where they have hammered people for naming companies that are not sponsors. I didn't want to be that guy.
Here is the question, if I unhook the sensor and drive the car and everything is ok should I continue to do that?

uh, no. That means something is wrong either with the sensor, the harness, the PCM or the programming.

And you can mention anyone at anytime. We are NOT one of those sites that hammers folks for that. We are into learning more, and our sponsors are on board with that. They get to learn about who else is out there.

Welcome aboard.

What year?

63 & 4 are easy, change the O2 sensors and if it's a 93 or older, they are inexpensive, $36 for 2.
Get NKT sensors (made by NGK).

51, have you had the prom out?
It should be taken out, the pins inspected and reinserted.
