The 2012 Mercedes F1 DRS system, not the slots in the rear wing. There's a valve behind them that is activated by the computer.
When that valve opens, air from the rear wing is pushed thru 2- 1 1/2 in. tubes THE WHOLE WAY to the front of the car and on to the front wing.

This air pressure stalls the front wing, pulls away downforce which gives a higher top speed.

How to they think this shit up????
Just sittin' around thinkin' "ya know, if we run 2 tubes the whole way thru the inside of the body we could.............."

Ross Braun. That's the mans name.

Think of it this way: on the new C6.r, the exhaust is directed down onto a small winglet on the rocker panel... it adds downforce.

Or on F1 cars when they started to force the exhaust onto the diffuser for downforce.

This stuff is scary detailed.

Yea, but I've been in engineering meetings, had a design that went to the patent office.

What these guys are doing makes "thinking outside the box" just like taking a nap.
