Well I knew Nemechek, Gordon. Franchitti, Johnson, Martin and more than a few others were out of the running.

My wife is a Newman fan and has been since day 1 for him. I like him, but Kenseth is my fav. My wife is crying with joy! I said earlier in this thread I predict him to make a comeback this year. Hope I'm right!!

Congrats to Ryan. Anyone who can pull off a win at Daytona or anywhere on the cup circuit certainly deserves it. I can't imagine what my man Tony was thinking when he dropped low on the last lap. But while it's easy to armchair quarterback, the bottom line is that it didn't work out. But it was a great race and a safe race and thank God for that. It's a long season and the new car has every promise of making it a great one. Although all of us serious fans love to hate the powers that be, it seems to me that the COT may be the best thing to happen to the sport in a long time, both for competition and much more importantly for the safety of the drivers. Good job Nascar. We look forward to a great season.

Any of you guys going to a race I'm going to this year, pm me. I'd like to get hooked up with some forum members. We camp there and will gladly serve you burgers and hotdogs and steaks and mixed drinks and beer. If you are staying in a hotel you can come to the track early and come to our camper, we camp at the track. It will save you from tailgating in a parking lot. Or you can come after the race for supper instead of waiting in traffic. We go to both Richmond races, both Dover races, the All Star race at Charlotte, and the fall Martinsville race. If you are coming to the race I'll give you my cell number and you can call me and let me know when you are coming and how many are coming and I'll be sure to bring enough food for all.

A side note...Direct TV was running a free "Hot Pass" for the 500. I was on the Dale Jr channel when he stayed out on one of the last cautions when everyone else went in for fuel and tires.

He asked Eury Jr, "What are we doing Crewchief?"...Eury said something to the effect of "We can probably make it on fuel now" and Jr says "Your the F**Kin crew chief...you have to make the f**kin decisions"....

It was close to that not word for word...but man he sure likes to cuss on the radio. I guess since its a pay channel profanity is allowed.

I was watching on the Tony Stewart Channel. But the real question is - do you think it is worth the money to buy the hotpass?

I bought it last year and didn't even use it but maybe 3 times. It would be ok if they didn't have a commentator...just in car audio and car views.
