For my 85,

Are the new Condenser's think like the picture? I want to reaplace the stock unit but I wonder if the R134a is more efficient or what? The return tubes are much smaller than the stock unit

R12 is more efficient than R134. The better the cooling in the condensor the better.

I was working on mine tonight...the 89 has the thinner condenser. Not sure when the change was without checking part numbers.

That is great info, GM probably consolidated their model years to the slimmer design.
