What do you guys think...

I drive the car pretty hard at times. It sees 75% highway usage. I am located in New York so it is cold most of the year. I drive it in the cold, and if I must, in the snow (I know, I know). I clean the car every couple of days so I don't care about brake dust, and I replace rotors when I replace pads. What I am concerned about is retaining inital bite. After my awful experience (monte carlo) with the Performance Friction Z rated pads I am very cautious about how agressive a pad I go with. I currently have HPS's on the back (those are the brakes I changed first) and I like them. If i can get faster braking out of the HP+'s without loss of initial bite and cold driving I will do it, otherwise i am happy with the HPS's.

Opinions? Experiences?

Dan

I would stick with the HPS pads, the HP+ are only truly awesome when they get hot, very hot.

Another option is Carbotech but I think the HPS is better than the Panther, and their XP line is really expensive imho.

I have Hawk HPS pads and Hawks Racing (from ebay, no relation to Hawk) slotted (not drilled) rotors on the front. They have more stopping power than any car I've ever had, no warping so far, and excellent grip in the cold weather (I live in PA). I am glad I went with this combo.

I have the exact same combination as you do and have had for the past year, great results. I live in south Florida, where it is hot most of the time.
Yesterday it hit a record in Ft. Lauderdale, 89 degrees.

Good stopping power with little fade and little dusting.

I've run a bunch of Hawk's compounds on racecars and have HPS on the C4.
HP+ work at higher temps than HPS, so driving in cold weather will decrease the preformance a little.
HP+ will definately be noiser.
Since HP+ work at higher temps, your initial bite won't be as good on the street because the pads will be cooled down.
Hawk even states that HP+ are not street pads.

IF you like the ones you have on the rear, you're really gonna like them on the front, rotors resurfaced (scotchbrite ) and bedded in per Hawk's instructions.

Hopefully the whole combination of the C6 Caliper Upgrade, and the pads will increase stopping power greatly. I think i am going to stick with the HPS's considering the advice given so far.

Thanks,
DG

good feedback and price.

I wouldn't get the drilled, but I see he offers slotted only as well.

for the street I LOVE Powerslot , but they are pricy. For the road track, hook up the cheapest blanks you can get your hands on haha.
