This will be it for us - we did our usual get up ridiculously early in the morning, arrive before 7:00 AM, and leave mid-day.

Don might have some - we looked for him but had no luck.

Great pics, John - thanks!! Bummer you didn't get to meet up with Don. That black '63 Z06 looks like a real sweetheart.

That black Z06 is both an NCRS Duntov car and a road tour car we followed for 1,700 miles five years ago. A photo of that 360 hp leading a bunch of far lower horsepower cars (only the Saddle Tan L76/340 hp convertible is competitive):

Despite the drizzle and the lack of sun (made getting a handle on paint tough), we both thought this was the best Carlisle Friday in years.

Yeah.... I whimped out because it was raining at my house on Friday and I decided to go up on Saturday morning instead. I should have posted here but forgot as my mind was all over the place. I only took a few photos during the day. I don't know where the time goes when I'm there. It's like getting sucked into a worm hole and the time shrinks to about 10 minutes even though I was there until late in the day.

In a word ...

WOW!

The stance is wonderful - the car has real presence at rest - but looks even better moving (we saw about twelve drive by in a pack while we were eating at the Fairgrounds Diner at about 7:20 AM). The LT1 sounds great, though at least I think the direct injection subtly changes the sound. Ivelis confirmed that she wants Lime Rock Green as the exterior color, though we were also very impressed with Night Race Blue.

Inside, the telematics are very impressive. The reconfigurable cluster is flat out gorgous. I'm not as blown away by the interior materials, but I think that's because we have all the end-of-C6-generation upgrades already in the 2012 Centennial - the interior is certainly a massive upgrade over (say) a 2005. The new seats are definitely better looking and seem well built. The luggage compartment looks large enough and the fitted luggage is a nice touch.

Still some things to decide:

1) Coupe or convertible? There were no convertibles at Carlisle.

2) We think we want the Kalahari (saddle) interior, but we didn't see any of them. Likewise with the black wheels. In general, there seem to be substantial restrictions on what is available for these early cars.
