Radio will turn off and start no apparent problem. Now replaced fuel relay because fuel would shut off. Wiggle wires around it starts up.
Plug wires are suddenly showing cracks and burn marks 8MM. Is there a chance the plug wires are arcing into other wires. Can the new 50000 volt coil cause this problem Attach file:  20131221_121656.jpeg (312.07 KB) |

hm... lets break this down...
radio... quits, restarts... I would suggest checking the relay. Fuel pump relay... agreed, replace. it's old. Which wires are you wiggling? The burned/cracked wires? Plug wires or what? FYI: Pre-1990 Corvettes suffer from junk harnesses. The primary wires lose insulation, crack, shrink, chaff, you name it... junk, in short! |

Glad you found the problem.
See if that fixes your radio problem, as well. Distributors have cause radio problems in the past. |

The high voltage around a distributor can set off all sorts of noise...
Check out MSD or Taylor wires. |

Replacing HEI wire. To dam hot here 100 already. Waiting a little bit for it to cool down. Uses a gm extension alternator pig tails with a little modification. Fits tight.
Just need to tighten down the Dizzy cap. and cross my fingers |

For now replacing the EFI no stalling no turning off no loading up
time for a new raido |

Is the radio aftermarket?
Could be as simple as a bad connection. |

I highly doubt it is the unit itself. I would double check all the wiring and harness connector.
